Elena Rybakina made quick work of Elina Svitilona in the quarterfinals, and the Kazakhstan native will again be a heavy favorite against Barbora Krejcikova in the semifinal on the grass Major at Wimbledon.

Rybakina holds all of the cards favored to win the title at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club on Saturday, and the 4-seed faces one more test to reach the final who will not make it so easy.

Krejcikova has defeated Rybakina twice in two meetings but the stakes couldn’t be much higher than an appearance in the finals in London for the underdog. With insulting odds at +375 to win the semifinal, EJ Garr’s Barbora Krejcikova vs Elena Rybakina prediction features odds at -108 expecting a closer match.

Check it out below and Ej will have a WTA Wimbledon Finals article posted for Saturday so be on the lookout for that this weekend!

Barbora Krejcikova vs Elena Rybakina Prediction: Battle Tested, Finals On The Line!

  • Prediction: Barbora Krejcikova +4.5 Games Handicap
  • Best Odds: -108
  • Bookmaker: Pinnacle
  • Stakes: 3/10

Odds updated at 7:00 am UK Time on July 11, 2024.

I will admit that I thought Svitolina would give Rybakina a match in the quarterfinals, and that simply didn’t go down as I thought. At 3 & 2, Rybakina dismantled Svitolina with ease and the role of favorite hasn’t affected her approach or mentality.

The mental side of being strongly favored at -400 or higher is surely known in the locker room, not so much the prices on the odds but the relative fact that Rybakina is expected to kick Kerjcikova’s ass and plow to the final.

I digress, and this is the moment that Krejcikova can put those doubters to sleep, and she will have the crowd behind her. A Wimbledon audience loves an underdog story, and we have seen plenty of upsets throughout this event.

Rybakina was +120 to win this title when the quarters started, and now you can’t get better than -200 on the Kazakh to hoist the hardware on Saturday.

Unibet has the balls to offer +175 on this match to go three sets and Krejcikova will muster up the game to steal a set from Rybakina. I will call it stealing a set but the line at +120 for the Czech to win any set in this match isn’t screaming it won’t happen.

I have the Over 2.5 sets prop posted for my other semifinal article with Vekic and Paolini, and I expect this match to go the distance. I am not fading Rybakina as much as I hope Barbora comes up with a monumental effort in the biggest outing of her career on the grass.

As my main bet, I have the +4.5 games on the board with Krejcikova thinking the underdog will have some big moments creating a buzz with the finals on the line.

BARBORA KREJCIKOVA RECENT FORM

Barbora has a doubles title at Wimbledon, and she has been flawless in two meetings with Rybakina which should help her confidence. As a massive underdog being given no chance to win, Krejcikova finally gets her singles moment as she still seems to be fighting the talk about doubles’ success.

The French Open title in 2021 started to bash the theory that she needed a partner to win big matches, and now a run to the Birmingham quarters has led to the semis in a Major Tournament.

Barbora’s record on clay (0 – 4) was undoubtedly one the hardest pills the Czech has had to swallow since she considers that her better surface.

ELENA RYBAKINA RECENT FORM

Elena is the 4-seed at the Wimbledon Championships and the fourth-ranked player on the WTA Tour. Rybakina has earned the top 5 ranking with three titles this season and a great chance to win a Major in London strongly favored to get there.

Rybakina is 40 – 7 this year, and her only loss on grass is because she walked off the court against Azarenka in Berlin not feeling well enough to finish the affair.

Being a repeat champion at Wimbledon is no easy feat, and with two wins the Kazakhstan native will add to her 2022 run to the trophy in London. Only 23 women in the long history of tennis can claim they have hoisted multiple Wimbledon trophies!

KREJCIKOVA VS RYBAKINA H2H –  STAT OF THE MATCH

  • Krejcikova is 2 – 0 against Rybakina, and their first meeting happened in 2021 at Melbourne which needed three sets to decide the victor.
  • The two met again in 2022 in Krejcikova’s native Ostrova, Czech Republic, and their semifinal battle again needed three sets. Rybakina took the opening frame, and Krejcikova gobbled up the final two sets to land in the final and go on to hoist the hardware in the event.
