Barbora Krejcikova carries a 10-match win streak into the quarterfinal of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, but Anna Schmiedlova has been full of surprises in France.

Krejcikova is still riding high from the run to the Wimbledon title although an issue with blistering on the Czech native’s foot is a concern.

The line setters list Schmiedlova as a heavy underdog at +300 because she couldn’t possibly provide another upset in Paris, right? Ask Jasmine Paolini about that!

EJ Garr is 4 – 0 this week at the Olympics and his Barbora Krejcikova vs Anna Schmiedlova prediction features odds at +106 which you can take advantage of below.

Barbora Krejcikova vs Anna Schmiedlova Prediction: A Slovakian Surprise in Paris

  • Prediction: Anna Schmiedlova +4.5 Games Handicap
  • Best Odds: +106
  • Bookmaker: Pinnacle
  • Stakes: 3/10

Odds updated at 7:00 am UK Time July 31, 2024.

No chance! Anna Schmiedlova has no chance of winning this match just like she couldn’t beat Jasmine Paolini on Tuesday at Roland Garros. Was that an upset over the Italian at +525 on Tuesday or was I dreaming?

We cashed the +5.5 spread with ease, considering that Schmiedlova won the game count, 17 – 16, and took the outright win against Paolini. We have a similar situation today because Pinnacle is showing -120 (1.83) odds on the +5 with the Slovak handicap.

I could settle for that but the plus-money offer on the +4.5 strikes my fancy because I don’t think we will need to worry about it. Schmiedlova has proven that she is inspired in Paris and the line setters keep trying to send her home!

Anna was +110 against Katie Boulter, +250 against Haddad Maia, and Paolini was listed as a -725 favorite to send the Slovak home. How’s that working out?

Krejcilova is on a heater with 10 straight wins since her run to the Wimbledon title, and getting past Svitolina took quite an effort. Barbora took a timeout to deal with a blister on her foot in the third set, and you could see it was bothering her but she plowed through the pain.

How that affects the Czech champ is yet to be seen but until anyone shows me that Schmiedlova doesn’t belong here, I ride the Slovakian wave! At +4.5 we have a decent +106 to bank so I will meet you there when Schmiedlova covers again!

BARBORA KREJCIKOVA RECENT FORM

Barbora was 7 – 0 at Wimbledon en route to her second Major title last week, and with three wins at the Olympics, the win streak is now 10 matches.

Krejcikova is now ranked 10th in the World but all three of her wins on clay this season have happened in Paris. Barbora was 0 – 4 on clay before the grass portion of the campaign but she has found confidence again.

The right foot blister could be an issue so keep an eye on that today.

ANNA SCHMIEDLOVA RECENT FORM

I have been enjoying Schmiedlova’s run to the quarters because my money has been on the Slovak in all three rounds. It is on her again today with the handicap, and you parlay bettors out there better use the +5 with marginal juice.

Anna is 2 – 11 against opponents ranked in the top 10, although that first number changed with the win over #5 Paolini yesterday.

The Slovaks record improved to 169 – 100 on clay with the win on Tuesday, and Anna has posted a 15 – 8 record on the dirt this season.
