A Top-10 clash between Aryna Sabalenka and Qinwen Zheng is set for the quarterfinals of the Miami Open, and the World’s #1 is a heavy favorite to advance.

With odds floating to -350, Sabalenka is on a mission after losing the Indian Wells title.

Sabalenka eliminated defending champion Danielle Collins on Monday and has sights set on a semifinal appearance.

EJ Garr’s prediction for Aryna Sabalenka vs. Qinwen Zheng features odds at -110, which can be found below.

Aryna Sabalenka vs Qinwen Zheng WTA Miami Open Prediction: World’s #1 On A Mission

  • Prediction: Aryna Sabalenka -4.5 Games
  • Best Odds: -110
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stakes: 3/10

Odds as of 7:00 am UK Time on March 25, 2025. Odds may now differ.

If you caught my preview for the first-round clash between Viktoriya Tomova and Caty McNally, I mentioned that the winner would face Aryna Sabalenka in the second round.

We nailed Tomova to advance and got exactly what was expected in the second round. Sabalenka pounded Tomova losing only 3 games, and Gabriela Ruse was down 6 – 1 in the first set before she retired in the third round.

Sabalenka was challenged by defending champion Danielle Collins, but the American couldn’t resist the force that is the World’s #1!

A 6 – 4, 6 – 4 final score looks closer than it actually was, as Sabalenka pounded out 7 aces and broke Collins 6 times while only being in a position to be broken once all day. That never happened, and a perfect service game for Sabalenka with 70% first-serve numbers tells that story.

I had Zheng and Krueger going the distance yesterday, and that second-set tie-break killed me! We needed Krueger to win that frame and force the matter but the American fell short and cost me a play.

We all know that Sabalenka takes pride in how she does in the United States and North America, and wanted that Indian Wells title. Losing to Mirra Andreeva pissed her off so much, I won’t imagine who she took that loss out on off-court before winning over Tomova and Ruse.

I have Sabalenka advancing and covering the -4.5 games because her serve will be too much for Zheng, as it has been in all five meetings between them.

ARYNA SABALENKA RECENT FORM

Aryna Sabalenka improved to 20 – 4 this season after her fourth-round win over Danielle Collins on Monday.

Sabalenka opened the season with a title win at Brisbane but has only lifted second-place trophies since (Indian Wells & Australian Open finalist).

QINWEN ZHENG RECENT FORM

Qinwen Zheng is ranked 9th on the WTA Tour and has done enough here to remain in the top 10 after reaching the quarterfinals of the Miami Open.

Zheng is 7 – 4 this season but the thorn in her side has always been Aryna Sabalenka. Getting over the Iga Swiatek hump took some time, but the 22-year-old Chinese native hasn’t figured out Sabalenka yet.

ARYNA SABALENKA VS QINWEN ZHENG HTH –  STAT OF THE MATCH

Aryna Sabalenka is a perfect 5 – 0 against Qinwen Zheng.

The pair met four times last season, and Zheng could only win one set from those four clashes while losing the first encounter in 2023 in straight sets.

Total domination!
