I see a few bookmakers offering -715 on the Italian to plow over Schmiedlova and Pinnacle is offering +525 which looks pretty sweet on a Slovakian surprise in Paris!

I am Italian and love what Jasmine has accomplished this season with a run to the French Open and Wimbledon final. I’ll call it hella-impressive and I don’t know where or how this sudden stroke of madness is coming from but it is sweet to see.

Jasmine is now ranked 5th in the world and Anna just jumped 3 spots on Monday from 70 to 67 in the WTA rankings. Now that that’s covered, we know that none of those numbers will influence the outcome of this clash and it will be an epic clash!

Schmiedlova can’t what? Hold on, you’re trying to convince me that Anna can’t win a set against Jasmine because the Italian is so hot that she can’t be touched? I don’t bet with my heart I bet with cashola, and my loot is on that obnoxious +5.5 games handicap with the Slovak.

I am not buying any of this ‘has no shot’ stuff and I just don’t see a 6 – 3, 6 – 3 affair because this match is on clay and Anna isn’t scared!

I had Schmiedlova to win her first-round clash at +110 which you can find on my Twitter feed, and you all cashed the +4 on the Slovak as she wiped out Haddad Maia on Monday. Anna was a +230 underdog against the Brazilian and she tore her to pieces in straight sets.

Schmiedlova is now 168 – 100 on clay over her career with a 14 – 8 record on the dirt this campaign.

JASMINE PAOLINI RECENT FORM

The recent form is okay! No, it’s not just okay it is stellar and Jasmine is becoming a force to be reckoned with on the WTA Tour. 

Jasmine is 12 – 4 on clay this season after the two Olympic wins this week, and for the first time in her career, the Italian will have winning records on all three surfaces. The 8 – 2 run on grass that ended with a Wimbledon Runner-Up trophy was amazing enough, and obviously, the loss against Iga in the French Open finale was nothing to cry about. 

Jasmine is as in form as any player in these Olympics, and her smile is intoxicating. The Italian is enjoying her recent success and the season isn’t even close to over yet! Expect more big things to come!

SCHMIEDLOVA VS PAOLINI H2H –  STAT OF THE MATCH

This will be the ninth meeting between Anna and Jasmine so we’ll go on a limb and say they know each other a little! 

Paolini is 6 – 2 from the previous eight meetings but the last time they met was in 2023 at the Billie Jean King Cup and Schmiedlova won the match in three sets.

I don’t have the space to go over all of the clashes but 5 of the 6 wins for Jasmine over Anna were straight-set wins.
