It’s taken three days to get this first-round match at Le Open de Limoges underway, but Tikhonova and Jacquemot will finally play on Wednesday.

Many lopsided affairs are expected today from the handful of games on the Wednesday schedule but I picked this one out because it gives me a chance to put my favorite bet on the board.

We have four favorites on the board at odds past -350 and -500 is a common site for three other matches being played today. I chose this match after noticing one line at Unibet although Pinnacle has the best offer on the Over 2.5 sets at +146.

While Jacquemot is listed at -190 to ease past Tikhonova, Unibet is showing -180 on the expectation of Tikhonova winning a set in this match, yet the 21.5 game total is posted at -115.

Let’s be sure to point out that this match will be ugly and there will be service breaks galore to build up the game count. I wish I could find the bookmakers that offer prop bets on breaks of serve because we will get at least eight today, if not more.

The total games won prop for Tikhonova is juiced at -140 on the Over 11.5 games and that would be rather tough to hit without winning a set.

I don’t usually go by the lines to predict an Over 2.5 Sets prop but I consider everything and it points to a lengthy battle between Tikhonova and Jacquemot.

Anastasia Tikhonova has lost four of the last 5 outings and hasn’t won three games at any event since March! I said March!

Tikhonova is ranked 292nd after reaching 158th a season ago and at 21 – 26 she is facing a losing campaign after a stellar 2023.

Jacquemot is 16 – 15 on hard courts this season with a 34 – 33 record trying to stay above level for the third straight campaign.

The 21-year-old is ranked 146th and has one tournament win since 2020.
