Amanda Anisimova vs Yulia Putintseva WTA Charleston Open Prediction: American Strong Favorite To Advance
- Prediction: Match Total Over 2.5 Sets
- Best Odds: +150
- Bookmaker: Pinnacle
- Stakes: 3/10
Odds as of 7:00 am UK Time on April 3, 2025. Odds may now differ.
Amanda Anisimova is listed at -225 to advance to the quarterfinals of the Charleston Open, but the American and her history on clay could make that a tricky proposition.
Anisimova had only competed in seven clay matches over the last two years before the second-round win against Kudermetova. Success and clay are not two words I would use to describe Amanda Anisimova.
That is a concern, and although Yulia Putintseva has been a mess before arriving at the Charleston Open, the Kazakh won’t intimidate anyone on this surface either. The 0 – 4 against Putintseva should be beating is another concern to have before arriving here.
The opening set tie-break against Shuai Zhang wasn’t the strongest start to Putintseva’s tournament, although she did regroup and finish off the veteran in the second set, 6 – 1.
How about those +275 odds on Anisimova to win this match in three sets? At only +110 to sweep Putintseva, that speaks to me and points to a game that goes the distance.
If Anisimova was going to pound Putintseva out of the Carolinas, wouldn’t that straight-set line be -140? At -225 to win the match, I would think the line setters wouldn’t tip their hand there, but I think that’s another sign pointing us to three sets.
The +150 offer from Pinnacle is right up my alley, and offers the kind of value I expect to get from a match that goes the distance!
