Rakhimova lost her first set in Italy before earning a first-round victory against Maria Carle. The Russian native hasn’t looked comfortable on grass after going winless in 2023 on the surface.

Alison Van Uytvanck might be 265th in the WTA World Rankings, but that doesn’t reflect her current form, which has earned her two titles in 2024. 

Van Uytvanck endured a rough 2023 that only saw her in 15 matches the entire season which is directly responsible for the drop in ranking. The Belgium native didn’t even play a single game on clay or grass last year, but she was 12 – 3 on this surface in 2022.

This will be another example of why rankings have little significance as the 265th-ranked Van Uytvanck is heavily favored over the 108th-ranked Rakhimova. It’s almost as if Alsion has found a fountain of youth because she looks confident again and we haven’t seen that for a while.

Rakhimova has only played four matches on grass in the last two seasons, and her only win from those affairs came here in Italy yesterday. Kamilla entered three grass events last year and couldn’t find a win, although two of those games went three sets.

Van Uytvanck has become a solid player on grass, and she will get past Rakhimova easily on Wednesday in Italy. At -4, the price of -108 won’t insult our ROI, and even if this turns into a 3-set affair the Belgian could still cover the handicap. 

I see the 2 – 0 Correct Sets prop is +105 and the total Under is 20.5, and I will admit I like both of those to follow suit with the -4 handicap. I can see this match ending 6 – 4, 6 – 3 to help us convert all three bets into cash so play it accordingly.

Van Uytvanck won this challenger event in 2022 and overall she now has three titles on grass in her career after taking Surbiton last week.

Rakhimova has limited experience on grass as she has only played 15 career matches and has a 6 – 9 record.

Kamilla is 15 – 17 this season and has fallen outside the top 100 for the first time since 2021.
