Friday is the men’s turn to take center stage at the French Open, as they’ll determine the two finalists for 2024. The second match of the day will see the winner play for a chance at their maiden grand slam title. The Carlos Alcaraz vs Jannik Sinner match, however, brings the two superstars and the future of men’s tennis together as they each strive to add to their major trophy cabinet. Our Alcaraz vs Sinner best bet is below!

Sinner’s win probability is about 41%, while Alcaraz is favored to win at 1.62 odds. The handicap is 2.5 games and the total games line is 38.5.

Alcaraz vs Zverev Prediction: Take Any Odds Over Evens in All-Superstar Clash

  • Prediction: Sinner to win
  • Best Odds: 2.39
  • Bookmaker: Pinnacle
  • Stakes: 2/10

Odds as at 1:00 am UK Time on June 7th, 2024. Odds may now differ.

I know I can have some rather long-winded handicaps and explanations on occasion, so let’s make up for it and keep this one simple.

This match is as close as they come. Two rising stars, two strong returns, two of the three best clay-court forehands on tour. Alcaraz has had a few more losses this season, but that can be attributed to health and when healthy he’s looked nearly unstoppable. All that is to say this match is dead even in my book.

Yet Sinner is a decided underdog here. That makes him value for me. Now, it’s important to make the distinction between a bet and a prediction. If these prices were flipped, I’d be betting on Alcaraz for the same reason. I have no prediction on who will win this match, but I can tell you that neither of these guys is a clear favorite to me.

Carlos Alcaraz Recent Form

I think it’s important to set aside Alcaraz’s form when it comes to pricing up this match. Heck, the market certainly has. That’s because entering the French Open he hadn’t played much clay court tennis and wasn’t playing at 100% in Madrid – his lone clay court tune-up for Roland Garros.

Now that he’s able to play more freely and unleash that forehand, we’ve seen Alcaraz tear through the first week and a half, losing just one set along the way. He cruised past Sebastian Korda, crushed Felix Auger Aliassime, and was relatively efficient in his straight-sets win against elite clay courter Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Don’t get me wrong, backing Sinner at the price I am is not a knock against Alcaraz, the kid is as good as they come and he’s playing well, it’s simply a nod to Sinner being right there with him.

Jannik Sinner Recent Form

Need I go deep into Sinner’s form? The 22-year-old is set to become the world No. 1 on Monday, he only really plays big events and yet he’s still amassed a 35-2 record this year.

It’s not a quality of competition issue either, it’s more a “he’s head and shoulders above everyone but Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic” issue.

The forehand is unreal, his returning is unheralded, his movement has improved and while he has had a hip issue this season, his physicality is much better now than it was back in 2021 and 2022.

Carlos Alcaraz vs Jannik Sinner H2H – Stat of the Match

Despite being so young, these two have already met nine times. When you’re both making so many deep runs, you’re bound to clash relatively often.

Alcaraz leads that head-to-head by a 5-4 mark, but on clay, it’s 1-1 with Sinner winning the more recent match.

Nevertheless, both players have improved leaps and bounds since then, so this will be the first tilt between them at their very best on this surface, and I, for one, am looking forward to it.
