If you were to look purely at Petr Yan’s record in the last few years, you would say, 1-4, his latest win was almost 3 years ago and it was against Cory Sandhagen. He has lost 3 fights in a row and is coming off a landslide decision loss to Merab Dvalishvili where he looked done. Right?
Whilst that is true, the opposition Yan has faced during this period has been top-tier. His DQ loss to Sterling was one where he was 30 seconds away from defending the Bantamweight title, and the following Sterling and O’Malley losses were by split decision.
