The Tampa Bay Lightning returned home for Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals on Monday night and a resounding 6 – 2 win has them right back in the series with the Colorado Avalanche. So, did you think that Colorado couldn’t lose game 3 after looking so impressive at home to start the series? Come on man, have you been paying attention to anything that the Lightning has done for the past 3 years? Down a couple of games? Home cooking! I said it before and I will say it again. The Rangers had the Lightning down and out and then then the Lightning returned home and how did that all work out again? Amazingly, the lines for game 4 are almost exactly as they were for game 3 including the total that is set at 6 again. Now, we all know that the first periods of this series have been full of goal-scoring to this point, as we’ve seen 3 goals in the opening frame of all 3 games. There is no reason to shy away from expecting that to happen again although the line setters are tired of paying us for cashing them.

The lines have been juiced up a little more as each game comes and now we see a 1.83 and some 1.80s out there for the Over 1.5 1st Period action. I will admit that my first instinct was to just go back to the well and expect more 1st-period goals tonight but then I see more value in the even-money offer on Tampa to level the series at 2 games apiece.

I thought about offering this total because even when we’ve seen both offenses sputter at times we are still seeing plenty of pucks in the back of the nets. That 7 – 0 madness of game 2 was just insane and seeing Tampa break out for 6 goals in Game 3 really just screams Over to me. So, I suggest you take Tampa Bay to level the series and win this game while again expecting goals tailing my bonus tip on the total.
