Oh, he said that! That’s all you have, that the Lightning are the best team since sliced bread and the Rangers have no chance to win game 6 on the road, right?

I know you read my Game 5 article accepting that the writing is on the wall and the Lightning is indeed now one win away from a chance to win their 3rd cup in 3 years. That is amazing if they pull it off, by the way, and they still might do it when the final whistle blows in game 7 but let’s not just give it to them just yet. 

I will break out a ‘not so fast’, because this series isn’t over yet and there is so much value in the Rangers that we have to poke a buck at it. Why? The first reason is that everyone and their cousin’s mother’s boyfriend is going to be posting that Tampa Bay has the Rangers’ number and the Lightning have their legs under them after that long layoff before the series started with the Gotham City outfit. 

The Rangers are too young and the experience was just too much and hey, I talked about all of this crap before the series started at all. Go find my Game 1 series-opening thread and listen to me tell you that Tampa will take a game or even the second to get their legs under them and I quoted Gretzky talking about stamina can be a factor for teams facing a long layoff. It was, and I will bet that many folks will bet on Tampa to win in regulation because it offers the best line of even money.

I am seeing about 2.00 for the Ning to wrap this series up in regulation time at home, and this is my time to be that Rangers fan and be the Devil’s advocate to those all over Tampa to just finish off New York in 4 straight games.

Shesterkin was totally blinded by both of the Mikhail Sergachev shots that found the twine so we just have to chalk that up to good work up front to create havoc in front of the net. I think we were all shocked by the goal-scorers in game 5, as Ryan Lindgren scored the only Ranger goal and Sergachev scored the first of the Tampa Bay goals before assisting on the deflection that beat Igor to make it 2 – 1. 

An empty netter from Brandon Hagel ended the festivities and now it is time for the Rangers fans to get ready for Game 7 back in New York. We all know the names and the situation we’re dealing with right now and I am not just fanning out on the Blue Shirts because I believe that too many people see Tampa as easy money. When easy money seems like you need to tell the world to triple their bet and break out the 100 unit, go for the gold, break the bank, call your mum and break out our fine China? Just go the other way and think dog, baby!

I am just not buying that the Rangers cannot win this game and the ending sure was fun to see unfold. We knew there was another scrap coming after the way the 2nd period ended and sure enough, the fights came when the final horn sounded. Look at the box score for the game and I will copy and paste the final moments.

Now, I don’t know if anyone of these players will face a suspension because the fights all took place after the horn sounded. The NHL could easily try to set an example, I guess, and Kucherov really didn’t need to shoot that puck that started the incident to being with. 

Anyway, I am calling the Blue Shirts to win the hockey game so we all have to get back to New York for Game 7. If it happens or not, I made the call early that I thought the Rangers could end this 2-year run and upset Tampa somehow so I am sticking to it. Rangers in 7! Oh, hold on, let’s not leave it off for a big game, right? Fortune favours the bold!
