There are four meetings in Britain and Ireland on Wednesday, with the only jumps action coming from Ffos Las (where the ground as usual is forecast to be heavy and the conditions are certain to be extremely demanding). All-weather fans have three cards to get stuck into, with Wolverhampton proving a competitive card on the tapeta (five handicaps sure to be keen betting heats), and twilight meetings at Kempton and Dundalk under the lights.

Anthony Honeyball’s three time winning hurdler has always been a chaser on looks, and he made a very promising start over fences when finishing third at Uttoxeter in December (jumped well and travelled strongly on the bridle before fading between the last two). He unseated at the first at Exeter last time out when sent off a well backed favourite, but is confidently expected to recoup those losses at Ffos Las on Wednesday (with winning form in the past on very deep ground a big positive).

Kim Bailey’s handicapper has eased down the weights after a promising return at Fontwell, and can take advantage of that leniency here under David Bass. He should be a lot fitter after that first run in nine months (ridden negatively and tired having raced freely), and more positive tactics are on the cards over a course and distance where he had winning form last season.
