A low key Tuesday, with three meetings and the only jumps action coming from Hereford. There are four competitive
handicaps on show, and the clear of the course will be hoping for rain to ease the ground as conditions were nearly “good”
earlier in the week. All-weather fans have the polytrack at Lingfield to concentrate on, while there is a twilight meeting at
Newcastle starting at 3pm under the lights.

Emma Lavelle’s useful winning hurdler shaped well on her chasing debut at Chepstow in November, jumping well in the main but just finding Witness Protection too strong up the straight. He was then cruising along going well when falling at the 8th at Ascot last time out, and can gain compensation at Hereford on Tuesday with conditions to suit.

This exposed handicapper has only won once from 15 runs over fences, but he has fallen dramatically down the weights in the last year and showed last time at Plumpton that he is coming back to his best form. The booking of Ben Ffrench Davies taking off 7lb means he is racing off a flyweight here, and this looks a terrific opening to end a frustrating run of defeats.
