There are no less than 7 race meetings in Britain and Ireland on Thursday, as the evening racing calendar kicks into full swing and punters will have plenty of choice and betting opportunities. Day 2 of the Perth festival provides some very competitive jumps action, with Kilbeggan, Warwick and Taunton providing some interesting cards. Flat fans can study the action at Beverley, Chelmsford and Tipperary.

George Boughey’s filly was strong in the market for her racecourse debut at Kempton 22 days ago, but could never land a blow on the frontrunning winner Ocean Cloud, shaping nicely as she stayed on for third under a considerate ride. That form has been well franked since by the winner going in again on Monday, and there should be loads of natural improvement in the tank now switching to turf at Beverley on Thursday (with the yard in terrific form at the moment).
