There are four race meetings in Britain and Ireland on Friday, with three jumps cards headed by a high class day of racing at Ascot, and some twilight all-weather action from Dundalk. The top stables are all represented at Ascot, where the ground is currently perfect after watering through the week to take the jar out of conditions. Some top grade novices could be on show
in the 12.20 and 1.30pm, while there are five competitive handicaps to get stuck into.

Olly Murphy has his team in blistering form at the moment, with 14 winners at a 32pc strike rate in the last fortnight, and this useful bumper winner made a really pleasing debut over hurdles at Aintree last month (finishing third and fully 17l clear of the rest). He is sure to get a more positive ride here from Aidan Coleman, and his jumping is sure to be a lot sharper with that initial experience under his belt.
