Today’s Racing Tips – April 8th
There are 4 meetings in the UK on Friday, with the highlight very much the second day of the Aintree Grand National meeting. Four Grade 1 contests light up a cracking card, and racegoers will be hoping that the forecast poor weather does not materialise. There are jumps cards in the afternoon at Fontwell and Sedgefield, while all-weather action comes from Kempton in the evening.

Surprise Package
Aintree 2:20pm
Peter Fahey’s progressive hurdler really impressed when bolting up in the Imperial Cup at Sandown in March, and shaped a lot better than the bare result behind the impressive State Man at Sandown.

Hitman
Aintree 3:30pm
Paul Nicholls smooth traveller has won two of his eight runs over fences so far, shaping well in three defeats in warm company so far this season, and the booking of Bryony Frost should be the perfect match for a patient ride here. He has been kept fresh for Aintree, and this 2m3f trip should suit ideally (ran a cracking race behind Protektorat in the Manifesto Novice Chase at this meeting last year).
Odds: TBD
Odds are best odds available as at12pm April 7th 2022. Odds may now differ.
