Henry de Bromhead and Racheal Blackmore have teamed up to brilliant effect in Ireland over the last few seasons, and this rapidly progressive chaser holds standout claims of winning the 2022 Cheltenham Gold Cup. He has now won 5 of his 13 starts over fences, finishing a cracking second to Minella Indo in the 2021 contest, and returning better than ever when not off the bridle at Haydock (well backed 11/10f and eased home alone under a very confident ride). That form may not be the strongest (main rival Bristol du Mai past his best and never comfortable on the good ground), but he remains with loads of potential over this stamina sapping trip and lost no caste at all in defeat when touched off by Galvin in December at Leopardstown.

Gordon Elliott’s 4-y-o grey gelding has impressed in landing hefty market confidence in three runs over hurdles since arriving from France, showing plenty of stamina to win in style upped to Grade 2 company at Leopardstown in December (only defeat when done for pace by Vaubon last time out). He remains open to plenty more improvement for these excellent connections, and there is little doubt that the juvenile form is at least a stone stronger in Eire as opposed to the UK these days.
