Saturday's Horse Racing Tips: February 12th
Today’s Racing Tips – February 12th
There are 8 high class NH races on ITV on Saturday, with Cheltenham clues aplenty at both Newbury and Warwick. The big betting race is the 3.35pm at Newbury, with excellent prize money on offer for their Grade 3 Betfair handicap hurdle. The Game Spirit at 3.00 provides some real quality, with Alan King’s prolific Sceau Royal sure to take plenty of beating with conditions to suit.
Saturday ITV Racing Tips
Time | Track | Selection | Analysis |
---|---|---|---|
13:15 | NEWBURY | FERN HILL | Ben Case’s bold frontrunner ran a cracker when second to Grumpy Chaarley at this track in December, and should take plenty of catching with ground conditions to suit. |
13:35 | WARWICK | GET A TONIC | Dan Skelton’s mare has a touch of class at this listed level, and she could have too much pace for these rivals IN A with the emphasis likely to be on speed at this sharp left handed track. |
13:50 | NEWBURY | POLISH | “Fergal O’Brien’s quirky hold-up handicapper showed a lot more when fourth last time out from a falling handicap mark, and should now be at peak fitness (with a strong pace on the cards to set things up for a late charge under Paddy Brennan). |
14:05 | WARWICK | EDWARDSTONE | Alan King’s very progressive young chaser has created a deep impression in winning his last three starts over fences, including over this course and distance in November, and he should take this Grade 2 en-route to a crack at the Arkle at the Cheltenham Festival. |
14:25 | NEWBURY | ELDORADO ALLEN | Colin Tizzard’s 8-y-o has returned at the top off his game this winter, losing no caste in defeat behind Mister Fisher at Kempton in January, and should relish this more galloping track on decent ground. |
15:00 | NEWBURY | SCEAU ROYAL | Alan King’s prolific and versatile performer had excuses under a negative ride over hurdles at Cheltenham last time out, and a return to fences on decent ground should be ideal under James Bowen. |
15:15 | WARWICK | CHEDDLETON | Jeannie Candlish’s northern raider has shaped nicely in defeat twice this season, and should this kind of test from a fair looking handicap mark. |
15:35 | NEWBURY | JPR ONE | Colin Tizzard’s progressive novice looks let in extremely lightly for this handicap debut, with his form very strong and plenty more improvement to come after just three runs over hurdles. |
