Sao Paulo finished a disappointing 13th place last season and will be looking to improve on that finish this campaign. They get things going against Athletico Paranaense, the team who finished one place below them in the league last season.
Sao Paulo are averaging 8.8 corners per game in their last 10 home matches. When these two teams met in Sao Paulo last season, the home side won nine corners and the visitors were unable to win a single corner.
Paranaense have managed to have more corners than their opponents in just two of their last 10 games in all competitions. Their opponents are averaging over 7 corners per game in that period. This bodes well for my selection here.
