Salernitana vs Fiorentina Best Bet
Sunday, April 24th, 11:30 (UK Time)
Salernitana seemed destined for an immediate return to Serie B before back-to-back wins (for the first time this season) provided hope that a great escape is achievable.
The 1-0 victory over Udinese in midweek saw Salernitana move off the bottom of the table and reduce the gap to safety to six points. In addition, the scoreline represented only their second Serie A clean sheet of the season. It’s an aspect that manager Davide Nicola has worked hard on since his arrival, but his side still holds the worst defensive record in the division.
Nicola and his men also have the worst home record in Serie A. At the Stadio Arechi, Salernitana have collected just eight points and have lost nine of their 15 matches. Again, this is down to their poor defensive numbers: ‘I Granata’ have conceded two or more goals on 10 occasions at home this campaign.
This Sunday, Salernitana welcome the division’s most in-form team in the shape of Fiorentina. Vincenzo Italiano’s men have lost just one of their last nine league games – a run that includes six victories.
Despite not being overly prolific away from home, Fiorentina have found the net in eight of their last nine away fixtures in Serie A. The 3-2 victory over Napoli last time out on the road offered further evidence that, even without Dusan Vlahovic, Fiorentina are very capable going forward.
Given Salernitana’s poor home record and defensive fragility, odds of 2.05 for a Fiorentina victory and over 1.5 goals in the match are very appealing.
- Selection: Fiorentina win and over 1.5 goals
- Best Odds: 2.05 (Bet365)
- Stakes: 8/10

Empoli vs Napoli Best Bet
Sunday, April 24th, 14:00 (UK Time)
Empoli are desperate for any kind of victory to end the season with some restored pride. Aurelio Andreazzoli’s men remain winless across their 14 matches so far in 2022, and are the only side in the division to hold such a record.
That elusive win appears extremely unlikely to occur this weekend, with Napoli the visitors to Tuscany, especially considering the home side’s defensive record at the Stadio Carlo Castellani. Although Empoli managed their first clean sheet of the season in their last home fixture, they have conceded at least two goals in 11 of the other 15 games on home turf.
Napoli approach this fixture on the back of two disappointing home results, which has stalled their title challenge. However, their form away from the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona has been formidable this campaign. Luciano Spalletti’s men have won 10 of their 16 away games, which is the best record in the division.
Given that Napoli have scored two or more goals on 10 occasions away from home, it’s hard to imagine anything but another convincing victory for the away side on Sunday afternoon.
- Selection: Napoli win and over 1.5 goals
- Best Odds: 1.86 (Bet365)
- Stakes: 10/10
Lazio vs AC Milan Best Bet
Sunday, April 24th, 19:45 (UK Time)
Sunday’s standout fixture in Serie A sees league-leaders Milan travel to the capital to face Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio.
Lazio have been the most entertaining side in Italy this season, with their 33 games including 113 goals – an average of 3.4 goals per game. Spectators attending the Stadio Olimpico to support the ‘Biancocelesti’ have witnessed 11 matches featuring three or more goals. Most of these have come from the home side as Lazio have scored two or more goals on 10 occasions in their 16 home games.
Meanwhile, the goals have seriously dried up for this weekend’s visitors, Milan. The 2-0 victory over Genoa last Friday was the first time Stefano Pioli’s men have scored at least two goals in a game since February.
However, the ‘Rossoneri’ are the joint-leading scorers away from home in Serie A, with 33 goals to their name. Furthermore, 10 of Milan’s 16 away matches have featured over 2.5 goals.
I believe the bookies have given too much weight to the recent lack of goals in Milan’s matches. As well as being a huge threat going forward, Lazio’s attacking style of play often leaves them vulnerable defensively. Therefore, I think over 2.5 goals is very generously priced for the late kick-off in Italy.
- Selection: Over 2.5 goals
- Best Odds: 2.00 (MarathonBet)
- Stakes: 9/10
WHAT IS A SERIE A ACCA?
A Serie A acca is an accumulator bet, a type of bet that consists of several selections across different matches that are combined together into one single bet. An acca usually. consists of at least four selections but many more can be included. There will be odds for the single bet as a whole which is calculated by multiplying the odds of all of the selections. A Serie A acca is one of the most popular ways to bet. This is the case because they can create potentially massive odds for a small stake. Many punters choose to create Serie A accas which is what we have created here. If one of these selections loses then the Serie A acca will lose. This type of bet needs every selection to win in order to succeed.
