Scottish Premiership Best Bets: Sunday 27th February
We’re back with more Scottish Premiership best bets this Sunday. Celtic have the advantage in the title race over city neighbours Rangers and both sides are in action this weekend. The Hoops have a tricky away match against Hibernian in the early game on Sunday. Rangers host Motherwell a few hours later after a busy midweek. They knocked out German giants Borussia Dortmund in the Europa League in midweek which could send things one of two ways. The Gers will either be buoyed or exhausted by the result. Either way, this is an important weekend.

Hibernian vs Celtic Best Bet
Sun, February 27th, 12:00 (UK Time)
Celtic manager Ange Postecoglu took the controversial step of sacrificing his side’s European chances on Thursday evening against Bodo/Glimt by fielding a much-changed starting XI. It was a clear sign that the club’s focus is on regaining their league title.
The Hoops, therefore, approach Sunday’s match against Hibs under some degree of pressure. Recent performances have not been convincing. Recent victories over Dundee United, Aberdeen, Raith Rovers and Dundee have all been laboured.
Hibs, meanwhile, lie fourth but are toiling. Shaun Maloney’s side may have recorded back-to-back wins over Arbroath and Ross County, but these were matches they were expected to win. Meanwhile, they have failed to score in five of their seven league matches in 2022. On the other hand, they have been reasonably solid defensively. Their previous defeats to Rangers and Celtic have both come by a 2-0 margin away from home.
With Celtic well rested and fired up, they should be able to win Sunday’s fixture without too many problems.
- Selection: Celtic to Win
- Best Odds: 1.50 (Coral)
- Stakes: 8/10
Rangers vs Motherwell Best Bet
Sun, February 27th, 15:00 (UK Time)
Rangers go into Sunday’s match with Motherwell coming off the back of their strongest European result since reaching the UEFA Cup final in 2008. A 2-2 midweek draw with Borussia Dortmund saw them eliminate the German giants 6-4 on aggregate, much to the jubilation of a bouncing Ibrox.
Last weekend, though, they suffered a hangover after winning away to BVB. A 1-1 away draw to Dundee United leaves them three points behind in the race for the league amid some rather disappointing results.
Rangers’ struggles, though, have been exclusively on the road. At Ibrox, they have won their last eight games in the league. Moreover, they are on a run of seven successive wins in which they have shut their opponents out.
Adding further weight to the home side’s case ahead of Sunday’s match is the thumping 6-1 success they delivered to Motherwell when the clubs last met in October.
The Steelmen, meanwhile, are presently toiling. They are winless since Boxing Day and Mark O’Hara’s goal in a 1-1 draw with Aberdeen at home last weekend was the first they had scored in well over 400 minutes of league football. They cannot hold out much hope ahead of this trip.
- Selection: Rangers to Win to Nil
- Best Odds: 1.80 (Betfred)
- Stakes: 5/10
