Club football returns across Europe this weekend, with a heavy programme of fixtures scheduled for Saturday. I’m focusing on three evening games from the Italian, French and Dutch top flights to bring you a Saturday night acca.

Salernitana vs Torino Best Bet

Saturday, April 2nd, 19:45 (UK Time)

For all their recent improvement in terms of performances under manager Davide Nicola, Salernitana still sit bottom of Serie A, without a win in nine games.

Despite struggling for wins, one positive for ‘i Granata’ has been their four-match unbeaten run at home with Nicola in charge. One noticeable difference in this sequence of results is the increased goal threat they now possess. In the last four home games, Salernitana have scored seven goals, which is more than they managed in the previous 10 combined at home. Impressive 2-2 draws against both Milan and Sassuolo also showed that they are capable of competing with the bigger clubs at this level.

Saturday’s match represents a real opportunity for Salernitana to get their first three points at home since October, with Torino visiting the Stadio Arechi.

The international break arrived at an excellent time for Torino, who are winless in their last eight Serie A matches. Although they sit in 11th place, it has been a nightmare season on the road for ‘il Toro’. Only their weekend opponents have picked up fewer points away from home, which is not surprising when you consider Ivan Juric’s side has only found the net on seven occasions on their travels.

In their last away fixture, Torino lost 1-0 to relegation-threatened Genoa, who played over 75 minutes with 10 men. Therefore, it is surprising to see an away win priced as short as 1.83 this weekend. I think there is real value in backing Salernitana/Draw in the double chance market, generously priced at 1.96.

  • Selection: Salernitana Double Chance
  • Best Odds: 1.96 (Unibet)
  • Stakes: 6/10

St Etienne vs Marseille Best Bet

Saturday, April 2nd, 20:00 (UK Time)

Despite holding one of the worst home records in Ligue 1, St Etienne have dramatically improved at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard in recent weeks. This improvement coincides with the appointment of manager Pascal Dupraz.

Since losing his first two home matches in charge, Dupraz has seen his side remain unbeaten in their last four – a run that includes two victories. Les Verts have always been capable in an attacking sense, finding the net in 12 of their 15 home games this season. However, they have struggled defensively, with the 1-0 victory over Metz earlier in March representing their first home clean sheet of the campaign. As a result, both teams have scored in 73% of St Etienne’s home fixtures in Ligue 1.

The self-proclaimed firefighter, Dupraz, faces his toughest test on home soil to date with the visit of Marseille this weekend. Les Olympiens are currently ranked as the best away side in the division, having picked up nine victories on the road this season.

Marseille have scored in their last 10 away fixtures and until recently had been solid defensively. Only Nice can boast a better defensive record away from home than Marseille, but Jorge Sampaoli’s men have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last four away games. Three of those matches have come against sides in the lower echelons of Ligue 1, which should provide St Etienne with some confidence heading into Saturday.

Although Dupraz has overseen a defensive improvement during his three months as manager, I still think Marseille’s attacking players will be too strong for a fragile St Etienne backline. Therefore, I’m expecting the away side to continue their impressive form away from the Velodrome with victory on Saturday night. The home side’s attacking threat can’t be ignored though, and I believe they can find the net once again.

  • Selection: Marseille win and BTTS
  • Best Odds: 4.50 (bet365)
  • Stakes: 5/10

Feyenoord vs Willem II Best Bet

Saturday, April 2nd, 20:00 (UK Time)

The new manager bounce was almost in full effect before the international break when Willem II boss, Kevin Hofland, was minutes away from victory against AZ Alkmaar in his first game in charge.

It doesn’t get any easier for Hofland as his side faces a trip to Feyenoord on a run of eight consecutive defeats away from home. Scoring goals on the road has been a real problem for Willem II. They have failed to find the net in five of their last six away matches, including against all three of the sides currently below them in the Eredivisie table.

One crumb of comfort for the away side will be that Feyenoord tend to concede at home. Arne Slot’s side has kept just five clean sheets on home turf this season. However, the issue for 17th-placed Willem II is that three of those shutouts came against teams in the relegation zone.

A further cause for concern for the away side is that Feyenoord have dealt out some real thrashings to teams at the bottom of the division. In their home fixtures against the current bottom three, Feyenoord won 4-0, 4-0 and 5-0.

Given this particular record against these sides, I’m confident of a similar outcome on Saturday night. Therefore, I’m backing a Feyenoord win with a -2.5 goal handicap on the Asian markets.

  • Selection: Feyenoord -2.5 AH
  • Best Odds: 2.23 (10Bet)
  • Stakes: 7/10

WHAT IS A FOOTBALL ACCA?

A  football acca is an accumulator bet, a type of bet that consists of several selections across different matches that are combined together into one single bet. An acca usually. consists of at least four selections but many more can be included. There will be odds for the single bet as a whole which is calculated by multiplying the odds of all of the selections. A football acca is one of the most popular ways to bet. This is the case because they can create potentially massive odds for a small stake. Many punters choose to create football accas which is what we have created here. If one of these selections loses then the football acca will lose. This type of bet needs every selection to win in order to succeed.
