Euros Qualifying Best Bets: Saturday, June 17th

We have three of the best bets for Saturday’s European Championship qualifiers. The domestic season may have ended but these fixtures will have a massive impact on which nations make it to next year’s tournament.

Scotland are looking to build on their exceptional start and make it to consecutive EUROs. Elsewhere, Belgium will want to continue their recovery from the poor performance at the World Cup.

Norway vs Scotland Preview

Saturday, June 17th, 19:45 (UK)

Norway have picked up just one point from their opening two qualifiers so this Saturday’s is vital if they harbour any ambitions of qualifying for the European Championships. Erling Haaland has been electric this season and is in contention for the Balon d’Or. The Man City striker missed Norway’s first two qualifiers but seems likely to start here.

Scotland were in dreamland after they beat Spain 2-0 in their last fixture. The Scots are in the driving seat in group A but they cannot afford to let standards slip. A positive result on Saturday would put them in a great position to qualify.

Norway vs Scotland Best Bet

Norway have scored just once in their two qualifying matches so far. However, Haaland’s presence in this much should make them much more of a goal threat. Three points are a must for the Norwegians if they want to get themselves into contention so expect an entertaining clash.

Scotland have scored five goals in their opening two qualifiers. There has been a steady improvement throughout Steve Clarke’s tenure and they have shown a real eye for goal recently. In their last 10 matches, Scotland are averaging 1.8 goals per game. They have only failed to score in two of those.

  • Selection: Yes on Both Teams To Score
  • Best Odds: 1.98 (Unibet)
  • Stakes: 7/10

Belgium vs Austria Preview

Saturday, June 17th, 19:45 (UK)

Belgium were hugely disappointing at Qatar 2022. They scored just one goal as they were dumped out in the group stages. They have since parted way with Roberto Martinez and things are looking bright under Domenico Tedesco. They have beaten both Sweden and Germany on the road to take but only the former was a competitive fixture.

Austria are also on a good run of form. Ralf Rangnick may be remembered for his ill-fated time in charge of Manchester United but he has managed to get the best out of his national team. The Austrians have won their last four matches. They are three points above Belgium having played a game more.

Belgium vs Austria Best Bet

The Belgians have moved away from the five at the back deployed by Martinez and have settled on a back four. They have shown far greater attacking impetus in Tedesco’s two matches in charge. The Belgians have found the net six times across those matches so expect them to rustle the net here.

Austria’s qualifying matches so far have also seen a glut of goals. They have beaten both Estonia and Azerbaijan but they have failed to keep a clean sheet in either of those matches. The 10 matches under Rangnick have seen an average of 2.7 goals per game.

  • Selection: Both Teams To Score & Over 2.5 Goals In The Match
  • Best Odds: 2.30 (bet365)
  • Stakes: 7/10

Montenegro vs Hungary Preview

Saturday, June 17th, 17:00 (UK)

Group G features four of the Balkan countries competing to qualify. Montenegro beat Bulgaria in their opener but succumbed to defeat against Serbia in their last match. A win on Saturday would see them move back into the top two.

Hungary were one of the giants of world football in the 50s but they haven’t reached those heights since. However, they come into this match in good form and will be looking to stamp their authority on the group. They are level on points with Montenegro but they have played a game less. This weekend’s encounter gives Hungary the opportunity to open up a healthy gap over Montenegro.

Montenegro vs Hungary Best Bet

Montenegro have just one win in their last six matches. Goals have been at a premium over this period. They are averaging just 0.5 goals per game and have failed to score in four of those matches. Miodrag Radulovic’s side are also without a win in their last four home matches.

Hungary have lost just once in their last seven away matches. This solitary defeat came against Italy. During that run of matches, they have beaten England, Germany and Poland. They also won their opening qualifier 3-0 so there is plenty of reason to be optimistic ahead of the trip to Montenegro.

  • Selection: Hungary To Win
  • Best Odds: 2.10 (bet365)
  • Stakes: 7/10

Best odds available as at 09:00 June 15th 2023. Odds may now differ.
