Odds listed are best odds available as at 2pm December 4th 2021. Odds may now differ.
Selection 1: Bristol City v Derby County – Bristol City to Win at 2.45. 6/10 Stakes.
Derby are in crisis.
With each passing week, the 2021-22 campaign looks less about survival in the Championship – the team are 19 points adrift of safety due to the points deduction – and more about survival as a club.
Recent reports show the Rams have a £20 million HMRC bill which, if unpaid, could see the club liquidated.
The hope comes from the public interest in buying the club shown by Chris Kirchner, who has attended matches, but it remains to be seen whether the US businessman is willing to take on the club’s debt.
In the meantime, Wayne Rooney battles on with admirable stoicism as head coach and, if the off-field woes can be solved, the Manchester United legend surely has a place in the club’s immediate future.
Nonetheless, Bristol City will see this fixture as the best opportunity they will have all season to improve their awful home record, which stands at 12 points from 20 dating back to last season.

Selection 2: Cardiff City v Sheffield United – Both Teams To Score at 1.73. 7/10 Stakes.
Cardiff and Sheffield United share much in common: two industrial clubs of the city who, having recently spent time in the Premier League, are looking to scale back under a young coach.
The Bluebirds have given Steve Morison the chance to lead the team as head coach on a contract that expires at the end of the season, with the 38-year-old having overseen a return of 10 points from six games in charge.
Morison is a popular figure with players and fans, while his knowledge of the youth setup – having previously been Academy Manager – is a factor behind his appointment, with winger Isak Davies and others getting a chance under the former Millwall target man.
It’s a similar story for Sheffield United head coach Paul Heckingbottom, who got off to a winning start with Sunday’s 2-0 victory over Bristol City.
Heckingbottom was handed a risky five-year contract, with the plan being to utilize his knowledge of the Under-23s setup.

Selection 3: Middlesbrough v Swansea City – Draw at 3.50. 3/10 Stakes.
Chris Wilder is off the mark as Middlesbrough manager, after a 2-1 victory at Huddersfield last time out.
The former Sheffield United boss had been very close to picking up three points against Preston North End previously, but defensive lapses saw his side lose 2-1 in that one.
Overall, though, it is impressive how quickly Wilder has implemented his ideas in his first three games, especially without a pre-season to work with his players.
The 54-year-old will want to be given the funds in January to evolve the squad to his tastes, but he already has players he will enjoy working with, not least Martin Payero, who is back from injury this weekend.
The Argentine, signed from Banfield in the summer, is an exceptional ball-carrier and highly creative, making him the ideal man to link midfield and attack.
Visitors Swansea, though, are at a more advanced stage of their development as a side, with Russ Martin being four months into his tenure as head coach.
The Swans have played some sumptuous football this season and boast an excellent creator in Jamie Paterson as well as a ruthless finisher in Joel Piroe.

Selection 4: Millwall v Birmingham City – Draw at 3.10. 4/10 Stakes.
Millwall are the Championship’s draw specialists, having shared the points in nine of their 20 league encounters this term.
Gary Rowett’s side are hard to beat, with a crop of strong centre-backs in Daniel Ballard, Shaun Hutchinson and Jake Cooper, a committed, full-blooded midfielder in Billy Mitchell and one of the best goalkeepers in the league in Bartosz Bialkowski.
On the flip side, though, the Lions are the joint-fourth lowest goalscorers in the second tier, with Jed Wallace typically carrying their attacks.
Birmingham, meanwhile, are looking to get back to basics after an injury-disrupted period, but Lee Bowyer was able to get Jordan Graham and Kristian Pedersen back for last week’s 1-0 victory over Blackpool.

Selection 5: Reading v Hull City – Hull to Win at 3.00. 6/10 Stakes.
Grant McCann has answered his critics emphatically after his Hull side pulled off a highly impressive four-game winning streak.
The trick for the Northern Irishman has been to switch from 4-3-3, the formation with which he has been criticized for being too stubborn, to a 3-5-2 with wide forwards Ryan Longman and Keane Lewis-Potter deployed as wing-backs.
This was a very risky strategy, because if Longman and Lewis-Potter get caught high up the pitch on turnovers then opponents have a chance of attacking ruthlessly in transition.
Greg Docherty’s discipline off the ball alongside a more conventional holding midfielder in Richie Smallwood, though, has given the Tigers the protection they need to get five attacking players on the field, including midfield maestro George Honeyman and two centre-forwards.
Selection 6: Cambridge United v Exeter City – Exeter to Win at 3.10. 7/10 Stakes.
Mark Bonner’s preference has been to maintain a small, tightly-knit squad at Cambridge United.
That approach clearly has it’s benefits, because it allows the club to push the boat out for a higher calibre of first teamer, and the U’s are loving their first season back in League One, sitting proudly in 16th.
On the other hand, the small squad does make it harder for the CB5 outfit to be competitive in cup competitions, due to the shortage of options.
It may be, therefore, that although Exeter are in the lower division, they might actually have the stronger starting XI.

Selection 7: Doncaster Rovers v Mansfield Town – Mansfield to Win at 3.50. 8/10 Stakes.
Doncaster are in crisis.
Manager Richie Wellens has taken the flank for their current position in League One, which is 23rd, six points off safety with 11 goals in 19 games.
There are reports that Wellens has rubbed some figures at the club up the wrong way, and that speculation will not have been cooled by the exit of goalkeeping coach Paul Gerrard.
With that in mind, Mansfield will sense an opportunity to make the FA Cup Third Round, an incentive that should stick in their minds.
The Stags lost to Cheltenham at this stage of last season’s competition, which meant Nigel Clough’s troops missed out on the opportunity to face Manchester City; the Nottinghamshire outfit will not want to make that same mistake again.
There are no guarantees that Town can make something of their League Two campaign as they currently find themselves 15th, seven points off the Play-Offs, but Clough can earn himself a second full season at the helm if he oversees a memorable, money-spinning cup run.
Additionally, Mansfield have won four of their last five league encounters, plus defeated League One big boys, Sunderland 1-0 at the Stadium of Light in the First Round – having done exactly the same last season.

Selection 8: Carlisle United v Shrewsbury Town – Under 2.5 Goals at 2.00. 6/10 Stakes.
Carlisle have rediscovered that winning feeling.
True, only one of their back-to-back wins came in the league – a 1-0 victory over Walsall courtesy of Tristan Abraham’s late strike – but beggars can’t be choosers and United have given themselves an opportunity to generate some momentum.
The Cumbrians next face League One Shrewsbury, who have fond memories of beating Everton in this competition in 2002-03, despite having gone out of the Football League that same season.
Now managed by Steve Cotterill, Salop find themselves in another dogfight – this time in League One – and are hoping to build on a run of one defeat in five league games, as well as the 5-1 First Round thumping of Stratford Town.
Daniel Udoh has been in excellent form lately, but if the physical striker is rested, we could be in for a low-scoring encounter.

Selection 9: Ipswich Town v Barrow – Ipswich to Win at 1.45. 9/10 Stakes.
Ipswich are not quite in the place they want to be in League One, finding themselves in 11th spot, seven points off the Play-Offs and 11 shy of the automatic promotion places.
Paul Cook’s side are more than capable of putting a run together, because their squad on paper is very strong, but they have to click soon.
Town’s strength in depth means Cook can make wholesale changes to his XI and still field an XI that would likely defeat Saturday’s visitors comfortably.
Barrow will not arrive in Suffolk in the best of fettle, having accrued just four points from their last nine league games, with Mark Cooper’s side also goalless in four.

Selection 10: Portsmouth v Harrogate Town – Portsmouth to Win at 1.55. 8/10 Stakes.
Portsmouth boss Danny Cowley is hoping this month will be as successful as the last, with November holding a six-game winning streak for his side in all competitions.
That sequence started with a 1-0 victory over Harrow Borough, after which Cowley admitted his side had been well below par, but Pompey have gained momentum from that win and should be stronger for the hosting of League Two Harrogate.
The Cowley brothers will have a lot of respect for Simon Weaver, having gone on similar journeys through the leagues in order to work in the EFL, although the latter has done so by managing the same club for 12 years.
Weaver is doing a wonderful job at Harrogate, who are currently on course for a Play-Off finish in just their second ever season in the fourth tier.
Luke Armstrong could carry a threat for the Sulphurites, but the hosts may have too much.

What is an EFL Acca?
An EFL Acca is a type of betting that involves combining several selections across different matches with one single stake. An acca or accumulator usually has at least four selections but it can include many many more. An EFL acca is one such bet that only involves matches from the EFL or English Football League, the second to the fourth tiers of English football. The benefits of an EFL acca are that the odds can be massive with a very small stake as the odds for all selections are multiplied together. Every pick needs to win or your EFL acca will lose.
