As La Liga continues to grab the headlines our expert Nathan Joyes has provided his Real Madrid vs Las Palmas Best Bet, team news, lineups and fixtures preview.

Having lost the Super Cup final 5-2 to rivals Barcelona, Carlo Ancelotti’s side will have to dust themselves down and return back to their title charge. The Italian head coach saw his team suffer a shock draw in the reverse fixture, and he can’t afford any more slip ups if Real Madrid are to leapfrog Barcelona.

Although Las Palmas will be hopeful after their positive result at the beginning of the campaign, they haven’t picked up just a single point at the Bernabeu in six attempts, with that point coming back in 2017.

Real Madrid vs Las Palmas Best Bet 1: Angry hosts to bounce back in style

Spain, La Liga, Sunday, January 19th, 20:00 (UK)

Although Real Madrid fell flat on their face in the Super Cup final, there’s still plenty of optimism when it comes to the league. Sitting one point behind Barcelona after 19 matches, Ancelotti still has plenty of time to seek revenge and secure the title he so desperately craves.

It’s far from doom and gloom as Real Madrid had previously gone eight games unbeaten (W7 D1), scoring at least two goals in all of their matches, as well as winning five games scoring three or more. The Super Cup was a huge disappointment for everyone involved in the club, but it can be seen as no more than a minor hiccup with the La Liga title on the line.

Up next for his team are Las Palmas, who have managed to pull themselves away from the relegation zone over recent weeks. Ancelotti will know the dangers they can represent, having drawn 1-1 earlier in the campaign.

However, despite their good work to get out of danger for the time being, back-to-back defeats against Elche and Getafe indicate they aren’t out of the woods just yet.

And a lot has changed since that 1-1 draw in favour of the hosts. Jude Bellingham was out injured at the time, but has since been in fine form this campaign, scoring seven goals and weighing in with five assists in just 15 La Liga appearances.

Rodrygo had to settle for a place on the bench, who has scored four in his last five, while Kylian Mbappe has continued to find his feet at his the club, having taken longer than expected to settle in his new surroundings. But aside from their recent defeat to Barcelona, everything appears to be clicking for Real Madrid, and they’ll be itching to get back on top.

It’s worth pointing out that Las Palmas don’t have a great record a the Bernabeu, either. Five losses from six attempts, Real Madrid have comfortably beaten their opponents by a two goal margin in all five of those wins. Last season they managed to do so (2-0) without Vinicius Junior, Bellingham and of course, Mbappe.

With that in mind, a full strength Real Madrid side with a point to prove should be looking to replicate a similar result Elche pulled off against Las Palmas. The hosts can win at least by a two goal margin, and any more will land us a winning selection.

Real Madrid vs Las Palmas Injuries, Team News and Possible Lineups

It’s unlikely Real Madrid will rotate too much – if at all – from their Super Cup final defeat. Carlo Ancelotti has his preferred XI at present, and if all are fit, they’ll start.

Mbappe and Rodrygo were on the scoresheet once again despite that heavy defeat, and both will feature alongside Vinicius Junior, with Bellingham tucked in behind. That front four is enough to brush Las Palmas to one side.

The visitors, however, will take inspiration from their 2-1 victory against Barcelona earlier in the campaign. With no fresh injury concerns to worry about, Las Palmas are full strength as they take the trip to the Bernabeu, seeking their first ever win at the venue.

Real Madrid possible starting lineup:
Courtois; Mendy, Rudiger, Tchouameni, Vazquez, Camavinga, Valverde, Rodrygo, Bellingham, Vinicius Jr, Mbappe

Las Palmas possible starting lineup:
Cillessen; Marmol, McKenna, Suarez, Herzog, Rodriguez, Essugo, Ramirez, Munoz, Moleiro, Silva
