Barcelona have made a strong start to the season, sitting at the top of La Liga after four rounds. WIll they continue their winning streak against Girona? This impressive form has helped to paper over some of the cracks within the club, including ongoing financial issues. New manager Hansi Flick has had to work with a limited squad, only bringing in Dani Olmo during the summer. As a result, Flick has relied heavily on the existing squad and youth academy graduates. One player who has stepped up unexpectedly is Raphinha, who recently netted a hat trick in a match against Real Valladolid. (via Forbes)

Raphinha’s Struggles Under Xavi

The Brazilian winger’s current form is a far cry from last season when he struggled to make an impact under Xavi Hernandez. Raphinha’s underwhelming performances led to intense speculation about his future at the club. Rumors swirled that clubs from both the Premier League and Saudi Arabia were keen to secure his services, but the player ultimately decided to stay in Catalonia.

A Turning Point for Raphinha

Barcelona nearly lost a player who is now crucial to their attacking strategy. Raphinha recently admitted that he seriously considered leaving the club after a challenging debut season. “I thought about leaving Barcelona. The first six months were tough for me and my family. Adapting to this club was demanding,” he told RAC1.

Despite the rocky start, Raphinha has found his feet and is now flourishing under Flick’s guidance, becoming an integral part of Barcelona’s quest for La Liga glory this season. His decision to stay has paid off, both for him and for Barcelona.
