Horse Racing Premier League Best Bets: Sunday March 13th
It’s another busy weekend in England’s top flight and I have Premier League best bets for five of this Sunday’s matches. There are key matches at the top and bottom of the Premier League table. The biggest of these are at the bottom with Leeds vs Norwich and Southampton vs Watford. Everton could be pulled into the fight as well should they lose to Wolves. I’ve got Premier League acca tips for the following fixtures:

Chelsea vs Newcastle Best Bet

There’ll be a few eyes on the boardrooms of these respective clubs ahead of this match but it’s an interesting clash between the two teams. Chelsea have found some form with four straight victories in the Premier League after a run of one win in seven. The Magpies are one of the form sides in Europe right now with six wins in seven. They won one of their 20 Premier League matches before then.
It’s tempting to back Newcastle here. They’re on an excellent run of form but come into this one as the big outsiders. Eddie Howe’s side are out at 11.50 in the 1X2 and have 1.5 goals in the Asian lines. Still, it’s difficult to back them considering the form Chelse have been in of late.
The Magpies usually score at least once. They’ve found the net in 14 of their last 17 away Premier League matches, a fine record for a side that spent two-thirds of the season in the bottom 3. That’s why I’m going over on goals in this match.

Leeds vs Norwich Best Bet

It’s a vital match at the bottom of the table as Leeds host Norwich. The hosts are the big favourites despite losing each of their last six Premier League matches. The Canaries have plus a goal on the Asian handicap line after they lost their last five.
We should be certain of goals here. Norwich have had over 2.5 goals in four of their last five matches. They’ve only kept one clean sheet in 2022 in the league. Leeds haven’t kept a Premier League clean sheet since last November. It’s been a long few weeks for them with those six straight defeats. They haven’t scored since the 4-2 defeat to Manchester United five matches ago.
Neither side is the strongest offensively so the goal line here is based purely on defensive frailty. The Canaries do look good value plus a whole goal, that seems generous against a Leeds side that looked as awful as it did in midweek.

Everton vs Wolves Best Bet

Everton take on Wolves in what is a crucial match for the hosts. The Toffees are stuck in a relegation battle and a defeat here could see them fall into the bottom 3 of the Premier League table for the first time since December 2019.
They face a Wolves side that won the reverse fixture back in November. Wolves haven’t done the domestic double over Everton since the 1972-73 season but they’ll be confident. Wolves haven’t won either of their last two away matches but they still have the 4th-best Premier League record on the road this season.
The goal line is intriguing me here. Most bookies have the goal line around 2.25 which does check out with xG. Still, six of the last seven meetings between the two clubs have had over 2.5 total match goals. There have been over 2.5 goals in three of Wolves’ last five in the league and the same is true of Everton’s last five.

West Ham vs Aston Villa Best Bet

It’s the claret and blue derby as West Ham take on Aston Villa. The Hammers have struggled of late with only two wins in seven Premier League matches. They have however won each of their last three league matches against Aston Villa. It’s their longest winning streak against them in the league since the 1960s. That includes the 4-1 victory at Villa Park back in October.
Villa have gone from strength to strength in the last few weeks. It’s three straight wins for Steven Gerrard’s men who haven’t conceded a goal in any of them. Philippe Coutinho, Danny Ings and Ollie Watkins have all found form at the same time.
But I’m edging towards West Ham here. Villa have won only 21% of their Premier League matches in London. Of the sides to have played over 100 Premier League matches in the capital, only Southampton have a lower winning percentage. The Hammers are due a victory and the odds are generous.

Southampton vs Watford Best Bet

Southampton have another chance to recapture their February form here following that disappointing defeat to Newcastle in midweek. The Saints have lost two in a row for only the third time this season. Watford’s midweek was even worse with that abysmal performance and 4-0 defeat at Wolves.
Watford don’t have the best record on the South Coast. The Hornets have won only one of their last nine away league matches against Southampton. They’ve actually lost each of their last seven Premier League matches that were played on a Sunday. Going over on goals is tempting but I’ll just be backing the home victory.
