Tottenham vs Newcastle: Back Isak Against A Depleted Defence

England, Premier League, Saturday, January 4th, 12:30 (UK)

Alexander Isak has performed exceptionally well in recent weeks. The Swedish international is the 3rd top scorer in the Premier League. Newcastle’s talisman has scored in each of the previous six outings, with eight in total. He’s a silky individual and will be confident heading into the new year. I’m convinced Isak will have opportunities to increase his tally against an underwhelming Spurs side.

Newcastle have demanded more than £150 million for their Swedish striker. It’s outrageous but shows how much he means to the club. Isak has averaged 0.78 goals per 90 this season. Few players in world football are playing as well as the 25-year-old. His xG numbers since the beginning of December are superb. 0.12xG, 0.49xG, 1.42xG, 1.53xG, 0.93xG & 0.83xG. Those four recent figures are fantastic. If he can get close to those numbers this weekend, he has every chance of finding the back of the net.

Spurs are leaky at this venue. They’re ranked as the 4th worst side at home, according to xGA. Only Ipswich, West Ham and Southampton have a worse figure. Significant absentees have disrupted their season. Bentancur, Davies, Romero, Udogie, Vicario and Van de Ven will all miss this encounter. Isak will be licking his lips.

  • Selection: Alexander Isak AGS (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 2.00

Liverpool vs Man United: Sensational Salah

England, Premier League, Sunday, January 5th, 16:30 (UK)

Having 30 goal contributions in 18 Premier League matches is utterly bonkers. That’s Mohamed Salah for you. The Egyptian is enduring a tremendous campaign once again with Liverpool. Contract talks are still in the air, which is wild, given what he brings to the club. Salah is a sensational footballer and will go down as a Liverpool legend.

Salah has averaged 0.96 goals per 90 so far this campaign. Mo has found the back of the net in 14 of 18 matches in the Premier League this term. We can back the attacker to score in a game they’re expected to dominate at a great price. Liverpool are priced at 1.27 to beat Manchester United at Anfield. Arne Slot’s side is priced at 1.83 to score three times, the same as the proposed selection.

Manchester United fear Mo Salah. The Egyptian boasts a magnificent record against the Red Devils. Salah scored at Old Trafford in September. Mo has bagged 12 times in his last ten Premier League appearances against Man United. Impressively, Liverpool’s superstar has scored in eight separate matches.

We have to remember that it’s 1st versus 14th on Sunday afternoon. There’s a significant gulf in class between the two sides. United have lost three consecutive Premier League matches without scoring. Amorim’s side have conceded 13 in their last six. Mo Salah will be eager to pile more misery on their rivals.

  • Selection: Mo Salah AGS (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 1.85
  • Bookmaker: Betfair
  • Stake: 10/10

Wolves vs Nottingham Forest: Back The Tricky Trees

England, Premier League, Monday, January 6th, 20:00 (UK)

I don’t think anyone would have predicted Nottingham Forest to be 3rd at the halfway stage of the Premier League season. Nuno Espirito Santo’s men have been excellent. They boast an 11-4-4 (WDL) so far this term and are the most in-form side in the league. Wolves at Molineux are up next for the Tricky Trees. It’s a clash where I expect them to leave with a positive result.

Wolves struggled in the early parts of the campaign. Gary O’Neil lost his job. They’ve conceded 42 goals. No side has shipped more. Vitor Pereira has guided his side into earning seven points from nine since being appointed. This could be their toughest clash so far under the Portuguese boss. The defining factor is that Matheus Cunha will not play due to suspension. The Brazilian has played a part in 14 of Wolves’ 31 goals this term and is their best talent.

Forest are flying, and it seems like they can continue grinding out victories. City, Arsenal, Newcastle and Fulham have defeated Forest this season. Those four sit in the top eight. If we split the Premier League table in two, Forest’s record against the bottom half is spectacular.

The visitors have faced all ten bottom half sides. They’ve won nine and drawn the other. It’s clear that they know how to defeat the lesser teams. Forest defends well. Only Liverpool and Arsenal have conceded fewer goals. Chris Wood is having a fantastic season. Several standout names have impressed. They look a great bet as they head to Wolves, who’ll be without their biggest threat.

  • Selection: Nottingham Forest Draw No Bet (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 1.72
  • Bookmaker: Betfair
  • Stake: 10/10
