Man United are playing in the Europa League against Rangers at Old Trafford. Former Man United star Paul Parker is expecting a good match but an even better atmosphere in the city and the stadium.

Two clubs with a great history are facing each other when one of the biggest clubs in England are facing one of the biggest clubs in Scotland.

We caught up with Paul Parker, who shared his thoughts on the match. Furthermore, he talked about Amad Diallo, who had a short loan spell at the club, and despite the period at Rangers not being ideal, he believes it was an important time for the winger.

A noisy evening in Manchester

Rangers are known for their great fans and Parker is expecting an amazing atmosphere when the Scotsmen are coming to Manchester.

“It would have been easier for Man United to play against Rangers at Ibrox, because their home record is so terrible. Rangers are a bit like Man United. I know it´s not anywhere near as ugly for them in the league, but they are a team that reacts to big occasions as well. In Europe they raise themselves”

“There will be, god knows how many Rangers fans at Old Trafford. It will be ridiculous, but more importantly, there will be more Rangers fans outside of the stadium. It´s a big game for both teams.”

“I don’t know what is going to happen, I just know it will be noisy in Manchester. The whole city will just be full of Scottish gentlemen having a good time. If it´s a half decent day with some sun, they will just be outside with their shirts off and kilts on. It is going to be amazing.”

Rangers spell was a blessing in disguise for Amad

Amad Diallo played for a half of season at Rangers, but his time at the Glasgow club never lived up to the expectations, which might have helped Amad at this point in his career, according to Parker.

“It was not like Amad had his best spell at Rangers, but his time there was very good for him. He played at a club with great fans in an amazing stadium. They play with a lot of energy and physicality in Scotland, and I don’t think he was prepared for that.”

“Today, Amad is not faced by anything. Never afraid of anything, and I really think his time at Rangers matured him. It was a blessing in disguise for him to be there, and he might not have been the player he is today if it wasn´t for Rangers.”

“So, I don’t think he is looking for any kind of revenge, but of course he wants to prove himself, but I am sure he is grateful for his time there.”
