Newcastle vs Wolves Prediction Preview

Ahead of the weekend, here we have a prediction, team news, lineups and fixtures preview ahead of the match between Newcastle vs Wolves. This is a clash where the hosts are expected to win.

Eddie Howe’s men are favourites. Alexander Isak’s ability could be the difference between the two teams. The Swedish international has been in superb goalscoring form. Wolves were beaten 3-0 against Forest last time out but did pose plenty of threat. That was even without having their best player. Vitor Pereira’s side are outsiders heading here which comes as little surprise.

Newcastle vs Wolves Prediction: Back Isak Once Again

England, Premier League, Wednesday, January 15th, 19:30 (UK)

It’s been a remarkable four weeks for The Magpies. Newcastle have been in emphatic form. Eddie Howe’s men are first across the previous five Premier League matches. They’ve beaten Leicester, Ipswich, Villa, United and Spurs with an aggregate score of 15-1. Isak and Gordon scored at the Emirates last week in the EFL Cup semi-final. Newcastle welcomes a Wolves side lingering around the relegation zone. It’s an encounter where they’re expected to claim three points.

Despite their dismal first half of the season, I was always high on Wolves. Gary O’Neil lost his job as a result. Finding the back of the net hasn’t been a problem. Seven sides have scored more than the 17th-placed side. They simply can’t keep them out. Wolves have conceded 45 times, a league high. They’re vulnerable at the back, and mistakes are frequent.

Newcastle’s price is no bigger than 1.36 in this clash. I feel like there is little argument. St James’ Park will be bouncing. The fans are incredible and act as the 12th man, especially under the lights. Goals are likely. The Asian Line is set at 3.25. Newcastle are priced at 2.00 to score three times.

The visitors are as big as 8.00 to claim what would be a shock victory. They’ll have Matheus Cunha back in the squad after his suspension. Wolves’ Brazilian attacker is their best player. Cunha has scored ten and assisted four times in 19 Premier League matches. He has several big clubs after his signature, that’s no surprise.

Four of Newcastle’s five home wins have come with a clean sheet. It’s full-throttle football at this venue. The midfield trio of Joelinton, Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes is fantastic. Lewis Hall and Tino Livramento are young and exciting fullbacks. Anthony Gordon is a tricky customer, whilst Alexander Isak is superb. The Swedish striker is enduring a tremendous run of form. Only Haaland and Salah have scored more than the former Real Sociedad man.

We can’t ignore Isak’s recent numbers. Newcastle’s number 14 has scored in seven consecutive Premier League matches. He scored the opening goal in that win over Arsenal. Few players in world football are in better shape. He’ll be confident and has every chance of getting on the scoresheet again. The price appeals, considering a rampant Newcastle welcomes the leakiest side in the division.

Wolves have earned just three clean sheets all season. Only one has come away from home. Vitor Pereira has a handful of absentees as his side heads to the most in-form side in the division. Newcastle could rack up a handful of goals in this encounter. I’m willing to back Isak in the AGS. The selection makes complete sense.

Newcastle vs Wolves Injuries, Team News and Possible Lineups Prediction: The Hosts Have A Strong Squad

Newcastle have a handful of absentees heading into this encounter. Callum Wilson is suffering from a hamstring injury. Emil Krafth has a broken collarbone. Jamal Lascelles won’t feature. He hasn’t played since March. Nick Pope is a doubt. The goalkeeper last featured in early December.

Bruno Guimaraes is likely to return to the starting 11. It’s an exciting Newcastle side. Lewis Hall and Tino Livramento have impressed in recent weeks.

Vitor Pereira will not have Andre, Boubacar Traore, Enso Gonzalez, Nelson Semedo, Sasa Kalajdzic, Toti Gomes and Yerson Mosquera.

Traore, Kalajdzic and Gomes are likely to return later this month. Andre is absent due to personal reasons. The Brazilian will be back next week.

Newcastle possible starting lineup:
Vlachodimos; Livramento, Botman, Burn, Hall, Tonali, Guimaraes, Joelinton, Murphy, Gordon, Isak

Wolves possible starting lineup:
Sa; Nouri, Bueno, Doherty, Lima, Doyle, Gomes, Gomes, Guedes, Cunha, Larsen
