Germany vs England Best Bet

England were stunned in Hungary as they were beaten 1-0. Southgate has come into some criticism for what is perceived as a defensive approach to the game, and many feel he should be getting more from this talented group of players. The Germany game provides the manager and the team with the perfect opportunity to respond to those critics.
Germany have had difficulties of their own since their World Cup triumph in 2014. Hansi Flick has set about changing their fortunes and has done a solid job so far. They have drawn their last two matches 1-1 against Italy and the Netherlands respectively, indicating there is still work to be done to take the Germans back to the top of the international game.
bet365 have both teams to score priced at 1.80 in this one, and I’m happy to back this given that both teams have a point to prove. England and Germany are among the frontrunners for the World Cup, but they have both shown their frailties in recent matches and I can see both defences being opened up here.
Germany will be out for revenge after England dumped them out of the European Championships last summer, and that desire to push forward should see them leave openings at the back.

Italy vs Hungary Best Bet

Italy were on top of the world last summer. They secured their first major tournament win since 2006 after very few fancied them to lift the trophy beforehand, but that mood has shifted a year on. Mancini’s men failed to qualify for the World Cup in Qatar, but they will be looking to build towards the next major tournament in 2024.
Hungary secured a memorable win over England in their last match, and they will be hoping to add another feather to their cap here. Conquering both Italy and England in a handful of days would underline the significant progress made in Hungarian football in recent years, so I expect them to be up for this one.
Italy have kept just three clean sheets in their eleven matches since their European Championship victory at Wembley. Hungary’s form in front of goal has improved also; they have found the net against England (on two occasions) and against Poland in their recent matches, so they have enough to cause a threat here.
Both teams to score is slightly longer in this one, with bet365 pricing it at 2.25. This one looks to be the value with the uncertainty surrounding the Italian defence after the retirement of Chiellini.

Neither of these teams has been in fine form recently. Bosnia-Herzegovina have won just three of their last 10 matches, while Romania have won four of theirs. They both also failed to qualify for the World Cup, so I’m not expecting a huge amount of motivation from both sets of players here.
Despite this, I’m going to back corners in this one. Romania’s last 10 matches are averaging over 11 corners per game, and the lack of quality in terms of chance creation could see both teams take a more direct route to goal. Bosnia’s last 10 matches (excluding friendlies) are averaging 10.2 corners per game.
