The world champions France have made a poor start to their Nations League campaign, collecting just two points from their opening three matches. They take on the team they beat in the final to win the World Cup back in 2018, and they will be keen to return to winning ways and build some momentum ahead of this year’s tournament here.
Croatia beat Denmark 1-0 in their last match and they drew 1-1 with France just over a week ago. The busy international fixture list has meant that the managers have been able to spend more time with their squad than they usually would outside of an international tournament, and that should mean we see a good game here with both sets of players familiar with their respective tactical setups.
When these teams met just a week ago, there were 10 corners in that game. Ralf Rangnick has enjoyed a good start to his time in charge of the Austrian national team. The players have really bought into his intense pressing style, and the early signs are that they could become a thorn in the side of the giants of international football should their progress continue.
Denmark are on a decent run of form themselves, but they suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Croatia in their last match. Denmark have already beaten France in their Nations League group, and they are highly fancied by many to do well in this winter’s World Cup. The Danes beat Austria 2-1 a week ago and they have home advantage to help them along this time out.
All things considered, I’m happy to back the home side to win the match at 1.85 with William Hill. Austria have looked promising under their new manager, but the price is very good for a team that beat the same opponents on the road very recently. Denmark did concede a lot of chances in that game, but their quality shone through and they will be looking to ensure they don’t suffer consecutive home defeats here.

The good thing about this round of Nations League fixtures is that we’ve seen the same matchups a very short time ago. These two played out a 2-2 draw when they last met, and I think we could see goals again here.
Iceland are not the same team that knocked out England from the European Championships in 2016. They have won just two of their last 10 matches and those victories came against San Marino and Liechtenstein.
Isreal have four wins in their last 10 matches, and their games are averaging a whopping 4.4 goals per game in that period.
