Reims vs Strasbourg Best Bet
Sun, March 6th, 14:00 (UK Time)
Reims may have surpassed expectations in recent weeks by winning seven points in their last four matches, including a shock 2-1 win over Monaco last weekend, but they will meet their match against Strasbourg on Sunday.
Racing travel with only one defeat in their last eight matches and having picked up a decent point against third-placed Nice last weekend. In their five away matches in 2022, they have earned three wins and lost only once.
Meanwhile, the home side are set to battle significant injury issues again, and while that has not affected the results to date, there is a sense that something must give. Strasbourg are unlikely to have the type of mental meltdown that saw Monaco fold in the closing stages a week ago, after all.
The visitors will travel with a strong squad, and should have the type of firepower at their disposal that will prove too much for Reims.
Now is as good a chance as any for them to end a winless run in Champagne that stretches back to 1958.
Backing Strasbourg in either the Asian Handicap market at -0.5 or via a Draw No Bet offer more conservative options, but we’re going for them to win outright.
- Selection: Strasbourg to Win
- Best Odds: 2.30 (Betfair)
- Stakes: 6/10
Bordeaux vs Troyes Best Bet
Sun, March 6th, 14:00 (UK Time)
Bordeaux sit bottom of Ligue 1 but their attacking qualities are giving them hope of survival. They have scored 38 goals in 26 games this season – which is more than third-placed Nice.
Although new head coach David Guion has increased the focus on defence since arriving a couple of weeks ago, they have taken the lead in matches against Monaco and Clermont only to draw 1-1. Nevertheless, he will be hopeful key attacker Alberth Elis will be back in the fold for this encounter.
Even if the Honduras international is not available, Bordeaux still have a strong array of offensive options.
robin struggling under a new coach of their own. Bruno Irles’ side have won only two points in their last five matches. They have been especially poor away from home. Indeed, they have lost each of their last three on their travels. Although they have scored in each of those matches, they have conceded 11 times.
Four of their last five away matches have produced at least three goals, and though Bordeaux might not be explosive as they were earlier in the season, the odds of this game producing more than 2.5 goals remain attractive.
- Selection: Over 2.5 goals
- Best Odds: 2.10 (BetVictor)
- Stakes: 5/10
Marseille vs Monaco Best Bet
Sun, March 6th, 19:45 (UK Time)
Marseille and Monaco both approach Sunday’s match in a state of disarray. Neither side is in good form and yet the importance of this encounter in the European race is paramount.
OM come into this encounter after a rare midweek off, with their Ligue 1 form disappointing in recent games. They were beaten 2-0 at home a fortnight ago by Clermont then held 1-1 by Troyes a week later. Both of those opponents are battling relegation.
Monaco are in an even worse state. The appointment of Philippe Clement over the winter period has not worked. Monaco have won only two of seven league matches under their new head coach. That poor form continued on Wednesday as they were knocked out of the Coupe de France by Nantes on penalties.
With Marseille having won only one of their last five at home and Monaco in abject overall form, picking a winner is not easy. What the pair have in common, though, is being involved in low-scoring matches lately.
In OM’s last 16 league matches, 12 have seen under 2.5 goals. Monaco’s run is not as long – three of their last four have produced under 2.5 goals – but they are a team increasingly lacking in confidence and lacking surety in what they are doing.
A low-scoring home win looks the most probable outcome but we’re simply backing a lack of goals.
- Selection: Under 2.5 Goals
- Best Odds: 2.00 (Bet365)
- Stakes: 5/10
