With European spots still very much up for grabs in La Liga, Nathan Joyes returns to provide his Granada vs Valencia prediction, team news, lineups and fixtures preview.
Although the visitors haven’t been in the best form away from home, Granada’s run of ten matches without a win is the reason why they are likely to be relegated to LaLiga 2 in the coming weeks.

Granada vs Valencia Prediction 1: Perfect fixture for guests
Spain, La Liga, Thursday, April 4th, 19:00 (UK)
After a frustrating period for Valencia, which has seen them win just two from their last seven, a trip to struggling Granada may be exactly what they need to revive their European aspirations.
Goals have been lacking from their game which is costing them points, having only scored twice once in their last eight. However, that did come vs Real Madrid, and so there is hope back in much calmer waters on Thursday evening.
Their opponents come into this fixture preparing for life in the second tier. Although not technically relegated, Granada will need nothing short of a miracle if they are to be saved now.
With just 14 points to their name, and without a win in ten matches, including four defeats in a row, nothing indicates they are close to a victory.
Valencia narrowly won the reverse fixture 1-0 thanks to a penalty scored by Pepelu, and they’ll gladly take the same in order to return to winning ways. It may not be glamorous, but if Valencia fail to win, they can kiss goodbye to any European adventure next season.
- Granada vs Valencia Prediction 1: Valencia to Win

Granada vs Valencia Prediction 2: Bet builder catches the eye
As mentioned, Valencia has struggled to find the back of the net in recent weeks, while Granada has continuously failed to outscore their opponents.
Valencia have drawn three blanks in a row on their travels, as well as three in their last five matches.
However, as blunt as their attack has been on occasions, they’ve only shipped in three goals in their last five matches.
Although Granada has scored in four of their last five home matches, their 3-2 defeat vs Real Sociedad, having led twice, will have knocked their confidence.
Trips to Mallorca and Cadiz saw them lose both fixtures 1-0, and with only four goals from their last five La Liga matches, Valencia should have enough to not lose the game and keep Granada at arm’s length across the 90 minutes.
- Granada vs Valencia Prediction 2: Valencia Double Chance and Under 3.5 Goals
- Best Odds: 1.57
- Bookmaker: bet365
- Stake: 7/10
Granada vs Valencia Prediction 3: Hosts can fire at home
Granada has won 12 of their 14 points at home, and although that isn’t the most impressive tally in the world, they haven’t failed to find the net on too many occasions.
In fact, blanks vs Atletico Madrid and Sevilla are the only times they haven’t scored in front of their own supporters this season. It’s keeping the ball out of the net which appears to be the issue.
Valencia are fighting for European football, and although a few blanks of late have halted their progress, they’ve secured way wins vs Sevilla, Rayo Vallecano and Cadiz this season, who have all outperformed their next opponents over the season. There’s too much at stake to slip up now.
But with Granada having scored two against Barcelona, Girona, Getafe and Cadiz this campaign, which have been their standout results this season, including two last time out vs Real Sociedad, the hosts are going down swinging in the final weeks of the season.
- Granada vs Valencia Prediction 3: BTTS – Yes
- Best Odds: 1.90
- Bookmaker: bet365
- Stake: 7/10

Granada vs Valencia Team News and Possible Lineups: Gaya missing for visitors
Valencia’s Jose Gaya was substituted in the first half during their 1-0 defeat to Villarreal and it’s unlikely we’ll see the 28-year-old back in the starting XI for their trip to Granada. In his place, Thierry Correia looks like the obvious replacement to step into his role, who has recently returned from injury himself.
Granada has no fresh injury concerns to worry about, but they may look to switch the team back to the one which almost secured a point at home to Real Sociedad, after two defeats on the bounce on the road.
Granada possible starting lineup: Batalla; Neva, Miquel, Bruno Mendez, Sanchez, Jozwiak, Gumbau, Ruiz, Pellistri, Boye, Uzuni
Valencia possible starting lineup: Mamardashvili; Correia, Ozkacar, Mosquera, Foulquier, Canos, Pepelu, Guerra, Lopez, Duro, Yaremchuk
