Gianluca Di Marzio Reveals Salah’s Future, Trent’s Next Move, and Arsenal’s Plans
Here at bettingexpert, Devang Prasad received significant updates from the esteemed journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, who shared insights into the futures of Liverpool stars Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold. Di Marzio also provided the latest on Arsenal’s transfer priorities, with Mikel Arteta reportedly targeting a striker in the upcoming windows.
Salah and van Dijk Will Remain At Liverpool
The ongoing uncertainty surrounding Mohamed Salah’s future has been one of the season’s major talking points. Despite delivering some of the best performances of his career, Salah finds himself locked in negotiations with Liverpool. With no agreement reached in January, Salah is now free to engage with other clubs ahead of a potential free transfer this summer. However, Di Marzio remains confident that Salah—and fellow star Virgil van Dijk—will ultimately stay at Anfield.
“I think Salah can stay at Liverpool in the end. I think they can find a solution with both Salah and Van Dijk so they can stay,” Di Marzio explained.
“I don’t see Salah in other teams. They want him to stay, and in the end, they can find an agreement. I really don’t see him at another club, but of course, a Saudi Arabian club could always try to convince him with money.”
Alexander-Arnold Will Join Madrid This Summer
Meanwhile, reports surfaced last week about Real Madrid’s interest in Trent Alexander-Arnold. Liverpool promptly rebuffed the initial approach, showing their determination to keep hold of the academy graduate, whose contract expires this summer. Despite his shaky performance at Anfield against Manchester United on Sunday, Alexander-Arnold remains a key player for the club. According to Di Marzio, while the right-back will stay until the end of the season, he is likely to move to Madrid in the summer.
“At this moment, I don’t think Trent can leave. He will stay until the end of the season because Liverpool rejected the first bid,” Di Marzio said.
“He is not playing his best football at the moment, so I think he will stay and join Real Madrid at the end of the season.”
Arsenal Will Target Osimhen And Isak This Summer
Beyond Liverpool, Di Marzio also touched on Arsenal’s plans, revealing that the Gunners are prioritizing the acquisition of a striker to bolster Mikel Arteta’s squad. With the transfer window fast approaching, Arsenal fans will be eager to see how their club addresses this key area.
“I don’t think Newcastle will let Isak go now in January. He is difficult to replace. Arsenal will try to get Isak or Osimhen in the summer. Osimhen will come back to Napoli, but he has an exit clause of €75 million. So, I think Osimhen is an option for the Premier League clubs in the summer.”
“Vlahovic is an option and a target as well for Arsenal. They like him, and I think they will try to make a deal in the summer. So he is also on the list.”
This Will Be A Quiet January Window
The January transfer window is set to be a quiet window according to Di Marzio with financial fair play proving to be a huge hindrance to teams. He points towards loans being a more feasible option for teams as they navigate the rocky waters of financial guidelines.
“This winter window doesn’t have major deals going on because clubs don’t have that much money. Difficult situations through financial fair play. Even in the Premier League, clubs, as you see, they can’t do deals. They have to be really careful. They most likely have to loan players out and cover their wages.”
“Italian teams, for example, are looking for Premier League players that don’t play.”
“Barcelona, they can’t sign players. Real Madrid is okay with the players they have. Bayern Munich, they have a lot of players. I don’t think January will be an incredible market.”
“In Italy, Inter, Atalanta, they will not do anything. Napoli will probably only get Danilo who’s not playing at Juventus. So as you see, every team will wait for the summer to do the major deals.”
