FA Cup Weekend Best Bets: March 19th-20th
The world’s oldest football competition is back this weekend and I’ve got FA Cup quarter-final best bets for all four matches. Each of the Premier League’s top three sides are in action this weekend as well as two sides from the Championship. Middlesbrough vs Chelsea Best Bet

It’s the giant-killers against the giants as Middlesbrough host Chelsea. Boro have already claimed two Premier League scalps in this competition this season. They won on penalties at Old Trafford and got past Tottenham Hotspur in the fifth round proper.
The stage is set for another upset on Teeside against a Chelsea side that has hardly convinced in the FA Cup. The Blues breezed past Chesterfield in the third round proper but it’s been a slog since then. They needed extra time against Plymouth and twice fought back from a goal down against Luton Town in the fourth round.
Thomas Tuchel’s men have conceded too many goals. That’s rare for his Chelsea side in any cup competition. They haven’t kept a clean sheet in any of their three FA Cup matches this season. They kept three out of four on their way to the final last season.
I think this match will be tight. Both teams scoring is unlikely and 2.00 looks good value for that bet. I’m looking at the goal line here. The bookies have it at 2.75 but I think it should be much lower. Under 2.25 looks good at 2.425.
My tip for this match is to instead look at the Asian handicap. Middlesbrough have a whole goal playing at home and after knocking out Tottenham and Manchester United. That’s hard to look past.
- Tip: Middlesbrough +1 (AH)
- Best Odds: 2.06 (Unibet)
- Stakes: 7/10

Crystal Palace vs Everton Best Bet
Sun, March 20th, 12:30 (UK Time)
It’s an all-Premier League clash as Crystal Palace take on Everton at Selhurst Park. Neither side looks set for a particularly exciting Premier League campaign so the FA Cup carries an extra significance.
Palace have been here a few times in recent years. They made it to the quarter-finals in 2019 and all the way to the final in 2016. It’s a fine return to the competition for manager Patrick Vieira who experienced so much success in it as a player. Palace beat three lower league teams to get here in Millwall, Hartlepool and Stoke.
Everton reached the quarters last year. They’ve only made it past this stage once in the last decade. The Toffees had a mixed set of fixtures to her here with wins over Hull and Brentford before a clash with non-league Boreham Wood.
The Toffees will be wary about this match. They haven’t won any of their last four FA Cup away matches in 90 minutes. Three of those games ended in defeat. They’re having a truly dire season on the road this time around. No Premier League side has taken fewer Premier League away points than they have. They haven’t won an away game in 90 minutes in any competition since August. I don’t think that will change here.
- Tip: Crystal Palace to Win
- Best Odds: 2.15 (Coral)
- Stakes: 8/10

Southampton vs Manchester City Best Bet
Sun, March 20th, 15:00 (UK Time)
The Premier League leaders travel to the south coast to take on Southampton as Manchester City aim to win only their third FA Cup title in the last 50 years. Guardiola and City won the honour back in 2019 but it’s been a series of semi-final exits since then.
They’ve had a decent route to this stage. City got past three lower-league sides to reach the quarters this campaign. Wins over Swindon and Peterborough came either side of that 4-1 victory against Fulham.
City have been extraordinarily consistent in this competition since Guardiola took over. They’ve won 17 of their last 19 FA Cup matches in 90 minutes. The only games they have lost in that time were the semi-finals against Arsenal and Chelsea. Only three of those 17 victories came by a one-goal margin.
That explains the 1.5-goal Asian handicap line. Southampton have lost their last three and there is value in backing them with that advantage. Still, I’m looking elsewhere for my bet. No on the Both Teams to Score market looks good at 1.91. I expect City to keep another clean sheet here.
- Tip: No on BTTS
- Best Odds: 1.87 (BetVictor)
- Stakes: 8/10

Nottingham Forest vs Liverpool Best Bet
Sun, March 20th, 18:00 (UK Time)
It’s another potential giant killer here as Nottingham Forest look to make it a hattrick of Premier League scalps. They’ve already beaten Arsenal and Leicester to get here, as well as securing a win over Huddersfield. They’ve been handed a fourth consecutive FA Cup tie at home which will help Steve Cooper’s side. Forest have lost only one of their last nine FA Cup matches at the City Ground. They’ve played five Premier League teams in that time.
They now face a storming Liverpool side. They’ve won 13 of their last 14 matches in all competitions, conceding only five goals in the process. The Reds are playing their first away match in this competition so far this season. Liverpool got past Shrewsbury, Cardiff and Norwich to get this far. That will trouble them. Liverpool have won only two of their last nine FA Cup away matches.
Liverpool haven’t got the best record in this competition. This is the first time the Reds have been in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup since 2014-15, before Jurgen Klopp took charge at Anfield. Forest look good value with the handicap here.
- Tip: Nottingham Forest +1.5 (AH)
- Best Odds: 2.12 (10Bet)
- Stakes: 7/10

What is an FA Cup Acca?
A FA Cup acca is an accumulator bet, a type of bet that consists of several selections across different matches that are combined together into one single bet. An acca usually consists of at least four selections but many more can be included. There will be odds for the single bet as a whole which is calculated by multiplying the odds of all of the selections. A FA Cup acca is one of the most popular ways to bet. This is the case because they can create potentially massive odds for a small stake. Many punters choose to create FA Cup accas which is what we have created here. If one of these selections loses then the FA Cup acca will lose. This type of bet needs every selection to win in order to succeed.
