England vs Ireland Prediction 1: Hey Jude
England, Nations League, Sunday, November 17th, 17:00 (UK)
The home game against Ireland sees Lee Carsley manage his last game in temporary charge of England, before handing the reins over to Thoams Tuchel. The 50-year-old will want to end in positive fashion, so a strong team is expected.
This means third place in the 2024 Ballon d’Or, Jude Bellingham will start again, against the country he was eligible to represent.
The 21-year-old was impressive in the 0-3 win at Greece, dazzling in a stellar 90 minute performance. He plays with his heart on his sleeve, which often sees him in the referees notebook, being shown four yellows in all competitions this season, as well as two in this summers Euros.
He is also not afraid to get stuck into the action, averaging 1.21 fouls per 90 for Real Madrid, making a foul in 11/13 games for Real Madrid this season. An early booking for dissent against Greece meant he was walking a tight rope and didn’t make a foul but the Galatico star has made a foul in nine of his last 12 England appearances.
- England vs Ireland Prediction 1: Jude Bellingham over 0.5 fouls (TRACKED BET)
- Best Odds: 2.00
- Bookmaker: bet365
- Stake: 10/10
England vs Ireland Prediction 2: Clinical Kane
After a string of withdrawals, Harry Kane has berated the England squad, claiming that country should come over club. He was then ‘rested’ for the win at Greece and was given a 24 minute cameo in the capital.
He should be restored to the starting lineup for the final Three Lions game of 2024 as he looks to break the 70-goal mark for his country. This season, the 31-year-old has been in stellar form, scoring 17 goals in 16 appearances for Bayern Munich, averaging 1.17 goals and 0.53 assists per 90.
Last season, he scored 44 goals in 45 appearances for the German side, as well 15 in 21 for England. Against an Ireland side who’s only clean sheet came thanks to a Caoimhin Kelleher penalty save, Kane will fancy his chances of scoring yet another goal for England.
- England vs Ireland Prediction 2: Harry Kane to Score (TRACKED BET)
- Best Odds: 1.80
- Bookmaker: bet365
- Stake: 10/10
England vs Ireland Prediction 3: England to seal the deal
A dominant 0-3 win over Greece in Athens means that England are in pole position to top the Nations League group and gain promotion back to the Nations League A group.
While winning four of their five Nations League games represents a good return for England, they will be tinged with disappointment having lost 1-2 at home to Greece at Wembley. Aside from this, The Three Lions have been impressive, beating Ireland, Finland and Greece all to nil.
Ireland registered their second win of the campaign with a scrappy 1-0 win over Finland. Evan Ferguson opened the scoring on the stroke of half time but Heimir Hallgrimsson had Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher to thank for the win, with the 25-year-old making four saves, including a late penalty stop.
Ferguson’s goal was Ireland’s third of the group stage after scoring two away at Finland. This means that the Boys In Green have blanked in three of their games – coming against joint leaders England and Greece.
- England vs Ireland Prediction 3: England to Win to Nil
- Best Odds: 1.80
- Bookmaker: bet365
- Stake: 10/10

England vs Ireland Injuries, Team News and Possible Lineups: Weakened England
Harry Kane criticised his England team mates after as many as nine pulled out with injuries. This meant it was a new look side at Greece as Lee Carsley looks to hone a squad for new manager Thomas Tuchel.
Ezri Konsa was subbed at half time and it is undetermined whether he is injured. Other than this, the squad remain unscathed.
Festy Ebosele was also substituted with an injury after 76 minutes. Other than this, it should be a similar squad selected by Heimir Hallgrimsson.
England possible starting lineup:
Pickford; Lewis, Walker, Guehi, Hall; Jones, Bellingham, Gibbs-White; Gordon, Madueke, Kane
Ireland possible starting lineup:
Kelleher; Doherty, Collins, Scales, O’Dowda; Azaz, Cullen, Knight, Johnston; Szmodics, Ferguson
