Lincoln vs Leyton Orient: Impish Imp

England, League One, Friday, March 29th, 15:00 (UK)

Lincoln City headed into the international break on cloud nine.

Michael Skubala’s side have only tasted defeat once since the turn of the year, taking 29 points from the 42 on offer, a tally only bested by the top two Derby and Portsmouth.

This form that has seen the Imps hoist themselves into play-off contention. They start Easter weekend two points off six places.

After a torrid festive period, Skubala has transitioned his side from one that operates in the fine margins to a free scoring outfit, adding goals to the second best defence in the division (33 conceded).

Joe Taylor has been pivotal in this uptick in form at the top end of the pitch.

The Luton loanee has netted eight times in 12 appearances for Lincoln, signing off for the break with a hat trick as the Imps put five past Bristol Rovers.

Taylor also bagged a brace as his side hit Cambridge for six in the game before and was on the score sheet at Oakwell in the 5-1 win.

It means Lincoln scored 16 in their last three, and their frontman has netted a third of them.

Taylor is Lincoln’s top goalscorer and Colchester’s top goalscorer, having spent the first half of the campaign in League Two.

At 3.20, he is simply too big to score anytime on Friday.

  • Selection: Joe Taylor Anytime Goalscorer (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 3.20

  • Stake: 5/10

Stevenage vs Bolton: Snoozy Stevenage

England, League One, Friday, March 29th, 15:00 (UK)

Stevenage’s play-off push has been built on their ability to limit the opposition to very, very little.

Steve Evans’ side are slap bang average in terms of goals scored (40) but boasts the fourth fewest goals against in League One (40).

Twenty of their games have seen two or fewer goals scored with this bet landing in nine of their 15 games since the turn of the year.

Interestingly, the bet has also landed in 13 of the 19 league games at Broadhall Way, which includes six of the last seven games the Boro have played on home soil.

Over that period, Evans’ side have only conceded five times and limited the opposition to 13 shots on target, the majority of both coming in Bristol Rovers’ 3-2 win.

Bolton sit in third, four points off the automatic spots with a game in hand on Derby but their recent form suggests they are feeling the pressure with only two wins across their last seven.

I do not expect a thriller between these two sides, with goals of a premium.

  • Selection: Under 2.5 Asian Goals (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 1.675
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 10/10

Wrexham vs Mansfield: Goals at the Racecourse

England, League Two, Friday, March 29th, 15:00 (UK)

The Cynosure in League Two takes place at the Racecourse where Wrexham host Mansfield live in front of Sky Sports.

The Stags are the division leaders, three points ahead of third place Wrexham but the hosts boast the best points per game (2.20) average in the division winning 13 of their 19 games on home soil.

Mansfield, on the other hand, are comfortably the best side on the road in the fourth tier, winning half of their 20 games and taking 36 points in the process.

Top of the table clashes can be nervy affairs, especially during the business end of the season. The reverse ended goalless but I do not think we will see another stalemate which is why siding with over 2.5 goals is the play.

These sides have netted 149 goals between them this term, no side scoring more at home then Wrexham (48) nor scoring more on the road then Mansfield (42).

This bet has clicked in 65% of Nigel Clough’s away games and 12 of Wrexham’s home games.

  • Selection: Over 2.5 Asian Goals (TRACKED BET)
  • Best Odds: 1.675
  • Bookmaker: bet365
  • Stake: 10/10
