Cristiano Ronaldo Set for New Manager at Al-Nassr as Stefano Pioli Leads the Race
Cristiano Ronaldo is bracing for his fourth manager since joining Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr in 2022. The Portuguese superstar has reportedly expressed his desire to play under Zinedine Zidane, but it appears that his wishes may not come to fruition. Instead, former AC Milan manager Stefano Pioli is emerging as the favourite to take over following the recent sacking of Luis Castro.
Stefano Pioli Set to Take Charge
As Fabrizio Romano confirmed, Al-Nassr is now looking to bring in a manager who can help the club secure domestic glory. Stefano Pioli, the Italian coach who led AC Milan to a Serie A title in the 2021-2022 season, is reportedly close to finalising a deal to manage the Saudi Pro League side. Pioli’s experience and tactical nous could provide the boost Al-Nassr needs to challenge rivals like Al-Hilal for domestic supremacy.
Pioli was dismissed by AC Milan in May 2024 and has since been on the lookout for a new challenge. His proven track record in Italy makes him an exciting prospect for Al-Nassr, as they aim to win their first domestic title since Ronaldo’s arrival.

Ronaldo’s Dream of Zidane Remains Unfulfilled
Ronaldo has long advocated for Zinedine Zidane to take the reins at Al-Nassr. The duo enjoyed massive success during their time together at Real Madrid, where they won multiple Champions League titles. However, Zidane has yet to make the move to Saudi Arabia, leaving Ronaldo still hoping for a reunion with the legendary French coach.
Despite the disappointment of not securing Zidane, Pioli’s potential arrival could mark a turning point for the club. His tactical acumen and experience at the highest level could provide the leadership Ronaldo and his teammates need to compete for silverware.
