The international break has been somewhat eventful as games have come in thick and fast over the past couple days. There is more to go around and this time, we shift our focus to North and Central America for CONCACAF World Cup qualifying. CONCACAF enters its penultimate round of matches with a lot to play for.
Five teams continue to battle for three places, two automatic spots inclusive. Canada are in line to make history while the likes of USA and Mexico will be hoping they secure a spot at Qatar as well. Ahead of all the action, we have some value bets to go with from the latest round of games.

Canada vs Jamaica Best Bet

Canada have punched far above their weight and have surprised a lot of football experts who gave them little to no chance. The Canuks have gone against all odds and surprisingly lead the way in the octagonal standings.
They have amassed an impressive 25 out of 36 total points, losing only once, just recently to Costa Rica. Prior to that defeat, Canada enjoyed an 11-game unbeaten run across all competitions.
Canada need only a point to seal a spot at Qatar, making it the second appearance in the country’s history. A recurring theme in their run so far has been low-scoring results and I’m expecting another similar outcome today.
Their opponents in Jamaica are only here as possible party spoilers and have no chance of making it to the World Cup. There is even little chance of the visitors winning, considering their poor run of six games without a win, including three defeats.
Only three out of Canada’s last 12 outings have managed over 2.5 goals and given that a draw would seal the deal, they’ll be happy to score one and just hold back for the result or even play safe and secure that needed point.

USA vs Panama Best Bet

USA have their fate in their own hands and a victory will see them secure a spot for Qatar 2022. The hosts come into this game after a goalless draw against Mexico in midweek, which was indeed a good result to say the least.
Victory against Panama will not come easy though as the visitors also have something to play for. Only four points separate both sides on the standings and only one point separates Panama from an Inter-continental playoff spot, occupied by Costa Rica in third place.
Panama have blown hot and cold in recent games, including a bore draw against bottom-placed Honduras last time out.
Though Panama won the reverse fixture back in October, I am backing USA to come big on their home turf and secure the much-needed win. It will be a close encounter so I can see a narrow win for the hosts.

Honduras vs Mexico Best Bet

Mexico are well aware of the script and know that they need nothing short of a win to put themselves in a good position for an automatic spot.
Gerardo Martino’s men are only three points ahead of Costa Rica, meaning they could still end up in the inter-continental playoff spot if things don’t go that way.
Luckily for Mexico though, they take on the worst side in the CONCACAF qualifying and that should give them some confidence going into the penultimate round.
No team in CONCACAF World Cup qualifying has conceded as many goals as Honduras (23). To go with, no team has equally scored as few goals as Honduras’s six.
Mexico are the favourites to win this one and should exert full dominance on their hosts. Honduras have only scored once in their last four outings and I can see them struggling once again against a side with much to give at the Estadio Olímpico Metropolitano.
