Real Madrid might have pulled off one of the greatest comebacks in Champions League history against Manchester City, but the La Liga Champions will have to take down another giant if they plan to win their 14th title in the competition.

Liverpool enters the final as favourites to win, with odds of 2.00 offered by Bet365 while Real Madrid check in at 3.50.

In my opinion, I would like to think the match is rather closer than the bookies are saying. In fact, there is no reason why we can’t consider Real Madrid as favourites ahead of the game.

Judging by their run, the Spanish giants have shown that aside from the quality needed to deliver on the pitch, they are mentality monsters that will never give up. Their stunning comeback against Manchester City pretty much summed that up.

However, if Real Madrid’s run to the final showed any indication of what’s to come, we are set for a thrilling finale to this year’s Champions League campaign.

Champions League Final Odds Preview

In football, finals are generally perceived to be low-scoring due to both sides playing cautious and trying to cancel out their opponents. This is no different with the Champions League, where the last three finals have ended with under 2.5 goals and only one team getting on the score-sheet.

Coincidentally, the last Champions League final to have seen at least three goals scored was also between these two sides, when Real Madrid famously defeated Liverpool 3-1 back in 2018.

Mohamed Salah was subbed off early after a controversial tackle from Sergio Ramos and will be particularly fired up for revenge. Reacting to Madrid’s win over City, Salah posted on Twitter: “We have a score to settle”. You can back the Egyptian to score anytime in the final at odds offered by Bet365.

If backing Salah to score seems like a decent pick, how appealing would it be for Karim Benzema? The Frenchman is in the form of his life, having bagged 43 goals in 43 games for Real Madrid this season.  His goal against Manchester City also saw him move up the all-time Champions League top scorer list as he moved on to 86 – tied 3rd with Robert Lewandowski.

Only Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have scored more than he has in the competition. A winning goal here will also put him as the favourite for the Ballon d’Or this year and the odds to score in the final are rather attractive.

The Reds are the favourites to lift the trophy at 1.50 with Madrid out at 2.62. The bookies are expecting them to win it in 90 minutes with the Asian line at Liverpool -0.5. An exciting match is also in store. The odds are short for Both Teams to Score and the goal line is at 2.75.

Against popular belief, I am going for a final with a good number of goals and possibly both teams getting on the score sheet. Backing Liverpool to win with both teams scoring comes at 3.75 odds while doing the same for Real Madrid comes at an attractive 6.50 odds.

Liverpool remain in the hunt for a quadruple and while it could bring extra motivation, it could also serve as a distraction. The Reds have six games to play in the space of 23 days. Their quadruple run will leave Klopp with a tough decision of playing his best players at all times or missing out on certain silverware if he prioritises one competition over the other.

This is where Real Madrid have an advantage as Carlo Ancelotti can rest players as he so pleases, having sealed the La Liga already. This could help the Spanish side avoid injuries and keep their best players fit ahead of the tie.

Even with all personnel fully fit and available, I am backing Real Madrid to dent Liverpool’s quadruple hopes and go on to win their 14th Champions League trophy.

  • Real Madrid to win the Trophy (2.62)
  • Both Teams to Score (1.66)
  • Over 2.5 Goals (1.72)

Champions League Final Bet Builder Odds: 5.50
