Burnley vs Southampton Bet Builder Tips: Thursday April 21st
I’ve gone for a Thursday evening bet builder at odds of 9.00, as Burnley take on Southampton at Turf Moor and with the Clarets continuing their bid for survival, they do so without anything in the way of a successor to Sean Dyche.
There is no doubt that Burnley have rolled the dice in the past week, but the question is whether such a gamble pays dividends and although Leeds’ owners made a similarly bold move in recent times, there is never any guarantee that such a switch of leader will work.
Especially as Burnley’s owners have got nothing in the way of a plan in the post-Dyche era and although Mike Jackson and Ben Mee oversaw a 1-1 draw away at West Ham on Sunday, it was not really enough in the way of new manager bounce.
A bounce that was certainly needed after Burnley’s recent 2-0 away loss to Norwich and although this latest version of the Clarets has not been anywhere near vintage, many expected Sean Dyche to at least be given the whole of this Premier League campaign.
In doing that, a man who was at the Turf Moor helm for 10 years, would have at least been given the opportunity to depart on his own terms and if it meant an eventual relegation to the EFL Championship, then so be it.

However, the Burnley board obviously felt differently and with them already three points behind Everton (before the Toffees take to the field before Leicester on Wednesday), there is still a lot of work for any new management team to do.
Regardless of who that managerial personnel is, they must simply get the better of a Southampton side who are no longer on the beach and after getting the better of Arsenal, they have now reignited their hope of a top-10 finish.
Hopes that currently have Southampton priced at 4.33 to finish in the top half of the Premier League and if they can get the better of a seemingly rudderless Burnley on Thursday, those odds will only shorten further.
Admittedly this is the only thing that the Saints have to play for in terms of relative prizes and this is something that Burnley will be fully aware of. This means if the hosts can use this to their advantage, then Turf Moor may be given something to cheer about.
While when you look at the current odds of relegation, Burnley are currently as short as 1.40 for the drop and if they fail to get the better of Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men on Thursday, then an already odds-on bet will only shorten further.
As for the outcome on Thursday, you get the feeling that if Burnley cannot wake themselves up for this one, then they may have no hope at all and with goals being an issue for both sides – albeit much more for the hosts, under 2.5 in total at odds of 10/11 (1.90) comes highly recommended.

Before Thursday night’s clash at Turf Moor, I have avoided pinning my hopes on the outcome and instead have laid the foundation with goals. I think there will be under three in total and Burnley’s Wout Weghorst will have at least one shot on target. Add under 9 corners into the mix and no red cards on show and this is my midweek betting construction.

WHAT IS A BET BUILDER?
A bet builder is a kind of accumulator bet solely focussed on one match. A standard acca features multiple selections across different selections combined together into one bet. If one selection loses, the whole bet loses. A bet builder is similar but each selection is placed on the same match. Similar to the American prop bet, the bet builder goes into detail on a single match. Common selections include match outcome, total goals, cards, corners, and players to score.
