Bochum vs Wolfsburg: Bochum Willing to Take the Game to Wolfsburg
Germany, Bundesliga, Saturday, December 2nd, 14:30 (UK)
Bochum earned a draw against Heidenheim last weekend to keep their noses above the drop zone, but wins have been hard to come by. They’ve emerged victorious in just one of their 12 Bundesliga matches so far, but seven draws have kept their points tally ticking over.
Wolfsburg dug deep to get an unexpected win over RB Leipzig. They saw very little of the ball and faced a barrage of shots, but they were able to grind out the result. The win saw them enter the top half of the table and they will want to build on that momentum here.
Bochum’s home matches have been averaging a whopping 34.4 shots per game this season, and this bet has won in four of the five matches. Overall, their league matches have seen the 2nd most shots in the league with an average of 29.83.
Wolfsburg matches have seen fewer shots, but the average of 26.83 per game is still above what is required for this bet to land. There were 39 shots when Wolfsburg travelled to this ground last season and 30 in their home clash with Bochum.
Borussia Monchengladbach vs Hoffenheim: Borussia’s Bachs to the Wall
Germany, Bundesliga, Saturday, December 2nd, 14:30 (UK)
Borussia Monchengladbach have started to build some momentum in the Bundesliga after a difficult start to the season. They put in a spirited display away to Dortmund last weekend and have managed to win their last two matches on home turf. There has been an average of 4.6 goals per game in their last five matches, so expect plenty of goalmouth action here.
Hoffenheim are in 6th place and the Champions League places are in sight. They have gone three league matches without a win, but their away form has been exceptional. Pellegrino Matarazzo’s team have won five and drawn one of their six matches on the road this season.
Monchengladbach matches average the most shots in the Bundesliga with 31.58 per game. Their defence has been shaky. They are allowing their opponents an average of 17.75 shots per game and have an above-average shot count themselves.
Hoffenheim’s matches also rank highly in terms of attempts. There has been 28.25 on average across their 12 league matches. This increased to 29.33 in their away matches.
Bayern Munich vs Union Berlin: Union Berlin Set to be Dominated
Germany, Bundesliga, Saturday, December 2nd, 14:30 (UK)
Bayern Munich have lost just one of their 12 league matches so far this season, but they remain two points behind Bayer Leverkusen in the race for the title. Thomas Tuchel is eyeing further improvements, but they look a formidable outfit with Harry Kane in their ranks. The Bavarian giants have been averaging 4.5 goals per Bundesliga home game this season.
Union Berlin are enduring a torrid run of form. They qualified for the Champions League last season, but things have gone from bad to worse in this campaign. They have gone nine matches without a win in all competitions and find themselves 17th in the table.
The home side should dominate this one from start to finish. Their league opponents at the Allianz have been averaging 7.67 shots per game this season, but Union Berlin look set to have even fewer.
Union have been averaging the 3rd fewest shots per game in the Bundesliga this season. They took on Bayer Leverkusen, Bayern’s title rivals, in their last league match on the road. They were dominated from start to finish. Urs Fischer’s side had just two shots as they kept 31% possession and finished the game with an xG of 0.04. This clash with Bayern should play out in a similar manner.
