Bournemouth vs Liverpool Prediction: Team News and Lineups Preview
Ahead of the weekend, hereâs a prediction, team news, lineups, and fixtures preview for Bournemouth vs Liverpool by Tom Winch. Youâd have expected a comfortable away victory in recent seasons. The Cherries are flying despite a depleted squad.
Arne Slotâs men are in for a tricky afternoon. They arrive here as favourites, which is understandable. Iraolaâs side hit Newcastle for four at St Jamesâ Park and smacked Nottingham Forest 5-0 the following weekend. We could be in for a treat. Bournemouth and Liverpool are two of the in-form sides in the Premier League.
Bournemouth vs Liverpool Prediction: Availability Could Be The Difference
England, Premier League, Saturday, February 1st, 15:00 (UK)
Andoni Iraola and Bournemouth deserve every inch of praise. The Cherries have performed remarkably in this campaign. Itâs a side heaped with talent. Several names have had links with moves away over the January transfer window. Bournemouth havenât lost in 11 Premier League matches. Theyâve achieved that feat despite a lengthy injury list.
Arne Slotâs men continue winning. Things are looking healthy for Liverpool. No side has collected more points or scored more goals in the previous ten matches. The Reds face PSV in Eindhoven on Wednesday night. We donât know the result at the time of writing. Many of Slotâs key players havenât travelled due to their 100% record in the competition.
Iraolaâs side ranks 3rd for xGD/90. A superb achievement. Everyone involved in the club knows that everything is left to play for. The arrival of Liverpool will be their toughest test of the campaign. Numbers are slim in all areas of the pitch, and thatâs what could be the ultimate factor when these two teams collide.
An intriguing encounter is likely. Liverpoolâs xGD/90 across the season is phenomenal. They boast a figure of +1.46. That number increases to +1.65 away from home, the best by a country mile. Liverpool has superior firepower to every side in the division. Theyâre a different beast at times and will continue to create goal scoring opportunities.
Liverpool are likely to arrive with a fully fit squad. Thatâs a monumental factor. Bournemouth has performed excellently in recent weeks with limited numbers. The Cherries bench has had several teenagers whoâve played very little or zero minutes in the Premier League.
Itâs tough to back against Liverpool. Slotâs men are brilliant away from Anfield. They boast an 8-3-0 (WDL) record, have the best xG (28.2) and have conceded the fewest xGA (10.0). I wouldâve loved it if their price to win was slightly larger than the 1.73 on offer. Although, itâs perhaps fair, given the circumstances.
Bournemouth have conceded seven times at the Vitality Stadium. Thatâs the best record in the Premier League. They are over-achieving. Iraolaâs men have allowed 11.2xGA. Could this be the game where things go against them? You wouldnât be surprised if Slot has his men fired up.
By all means, this is no dig at Bournemouth. We can take nothing away from them. Nine goals across two matches is outstanding, considering they played Newcastle and Forest, two sides who were in tremendous form. Liverpool is a different beast. With so many absentees in that Bournemouth side, they could find it hard on Saturday afternoon.
