Adrien Rabiot has taken a measured approach in deciding his next career move. Juventus, his previous club, had extended an offer to renew his contract, but the French midfielder chose to explore his options in the free agent market. With significant interest from European giants like Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Paris Saint-Germain, it seemed a new club was just around the corner. However, despite his availability on a free transfer, Rabiot’s substantial wage demands have proven to be a stumbling block.

Milan and Manchester United Withdraw Interest

Months have passed since Rabiot became a free agent, and yet he remains without a club. Recent reports have revealed that the 28-year-old has turned down a contract offer from AC Milan, a club that was keen to bolster their midfield. Manchester United, who had been monitoring Rabiot for some time, have also decided to step back from negotiations, ending any hopes of a move to Old Trafford.

Rabiot has been on the radar of the Red Devils for years, considered at various times as a potential signing to strengthen their midfield options. Most recently, he was seen as a possible replacement for Christian Eriksen, whose future at United had been uncertain. However, with Eriksen committing to fulfill his contract, Manchester United saw no urgent need to pursue Rabiot, leaving the Frenchman to continue his search for a new club.

Saudi Arabia Beckons for Rabiot

As the European transfer window has closed, Rabiot’s options are narrowing. A move to Saudi Arabia now seems increasingly likely, with clubs in the Saudi Pro League showing interest in securing his services. The financial power of these clubs could meet Rabiot’s salary demands, providing the 75-time capped French international with a fresh start outside of Europe.
