Gujarat Titans vs Rajasthan Royals IPL Final Best Bet

Sunday, May 29th, 3:30pm (UK time)

After finishing top of the tree in the group stages, Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals have progressed to the final and face off at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

When the IPL started over two months ago, the Titans were many people’s pick for failure, but they have made a mockery of these opinions – winning 11 of their 15 games on route to the final.

Although they have relied heavily on their world class bowling line-up throughout the season, it has been their batting which has come up trumps recently, chasing down a sizeable 191 against Rajasthan last time out.

Hardik Pandya has proven an inspired choice of captaincy by head coach Ashish Nehra and David Miller has also rediscovered the form which made him one of the most feared batters in the world – highlighted by his match winning half-century against the Royals.

With the Titans proving themselves the best bowling unit this season, the Royals hold the title of the strongest batting line-up, with Buttler in irresistible form, Samson playing well and Shimron Hetmyer providing firepower at the death.

And it was pyrotechnics from Buttler which singlehandedly won them their semi-final against the Royals Challengers Bangalore – as he struck 10 fours and six maximums before reaching his fourth century of the season.

This hundred took his tally to 824 runs, and with one game remaining it would be foolish to overlook the Englishman to slow down now.

In the sides two encounters so far this season Buttler has hit 54 and 89, happily playing out overs from Rashid Khan both times before attacking the other bowlers later on.

If Buttler doesn’t fire, Sanju Samson is the next best in this Royals line-up, and the captain looked in good nick again as he struck 23 last time out, before being stumped off the bowling of Wanindu Hasaranga.

On the big stage, I’m backing either of the pair to come up trumps, but I wouldn’t dissuade anyone from backing Buttler for man of the match of top match run scorer.

  • Selection: Jos Buttler or Sanju Samson Rajasthan Royals Most Runs
  • Best odds: 1.90 (SkyBet)
  • Stake: 8/10

Odds as at 1pm May 28th 2022. Odds may now differ.
