The Huskies tied the 1985-88 Villanova Wildcats by covering against Alabama on Saturday, and now they can set a presence of 12-straight ATS victories in the NCAA Men’s Tourney.
UConn only has to win this game by 7 points to cover the handicap, but Purdue has other plans for the future. Zach Edey was undoubtedly the most dominant player in the two semifinal games played on Saturday.
Edey scored 40 points and grabbed 16 rebounds against the Vols in the Regional Final, and the Senior center put up 20 again against N.C. State in the semifinals. Purdue has played seven post-season games, including the Big Ten Tourney, and Edey has put up a double-double in every game.
The battle between Edey and UConn’s Donovan Clingham makes this game an instant classic that is must-see TV!
Purdue holding N.C. State to 50 points was also the most impressive part of the semifinals. I will admit they got me because I had the Wolfpack to cover, so I need a win here.
I can’t get past the fact that UConn has five players averaging double-digits in the post-season, and this run of covering the handicap is insane. I can’t fade UConn, even though I respect the hell out of Zach Edey and Purdue.

Sophomore Fletcher Loyer is also to thank for this run to the finals, as he and Edey are the only Boilermakers averaging double-digits in the post-season.
