We have a Big Ten vs Big East matchup that brings two teams together that provided healthy offensive production from their opening two games of the tournament. The Michigan Wolverines put up 75 points in their first game against Colorado State and then responded with a 76-point effort over Tennessee to advance to the Sweet 16.

Michigan ended their regular season with a suspended head coach, and one thing Juwan Howard has struggled with all season is keeping his program from getting in a winning groove. The Wolverines have won their last two games in the tournament but they have only managed one 3-game win streak the entire campaign. Wins have been tough to come by in succession and I am not going to start having faith that Howard can lead any program past the likes of Villanova.

Despite only laying a 5-point handicap, I fully expect the Wildcats to have a fantastic evening in San Antonio, TX. Head Coach Jay Wright has his program riding a 7-game win streak which includes the Big East Conference Tournament title already shining in the campus showcase.

Collin Gillespie’s confidence is through the roof right now as the senior guard opened with a 14-point effort in the team’s first win and then threw down 20-points in the win over Ohio State to advance to the Sweet 16.

Houston and Arizona tip-off the night game in the Lone Star State and some might be giving Houston the edge being so close to home for this contest. Of course, it is always nice to have the crowd support in your favour but I still think it is going to be quite the uphill battle for the Cougars.

Houston is riding a modest 5-game win streak and the Cougars lead the nation holding opponents to 37.2% shooting from the floor. The Houston offense? Well, there have been times that this Cougar squad has been downright offensive at times and I mean that in an ugly way. Arizona struggles with nothing and it is my opinion that the Wildcats will be able to handle the trip to Texas and find a pair of wins this weekend. I fully expect Villanova and Arizona to meet on Saturday here in San Antonio and that is going to be one of the best games of the tournament. Arizona is stout on both sides of the floor and the rankings also show how formidable they can be scoring and shutting opponents down as well.
