Boston Celtics vs Milwaukee Bucks

The Boston Celtics are having a mediocre 2021/22 season, and they are currently 10th in the Eastern Conference with a record of 13 wins and 14 losses. Their recent form has also been subpar, with the team ranking 20th in offensive rating, 16th in defensive rating, and 22nd in assist/turnover ratio in the last 10 games. The Celtics are also averaging just 22.2 assists per game and a 3-point percentage of 33.2%.  They are struggling on both sides of the floor, but their offensive inconsistency has by far been their biggest problem.

Meanwhile, the Milwaukee Bucks have recovered in splendid fashion after a poor start to the season, and are now 2nd in the Eastern Conference with 18 wins and 10 losses. They play a fast-paced style of basketball with lots of 3-point shooting, and with a percentage of 36.6% in the last 10 games, they have every right to. Their defence has also been a huge help, ranking 7th in the NBA with a rating of 106.9. The Bucks have won 8 of their last 10 games and are coming off a blowout 97-112 win against the Knicks. Despite their excellent form, the Bucks are underdogs in this one, and at 2.05 odds to win they provide some nice value.

Tip: Milwaukee Bucks to Win at 2.05 odds

Memphis Grizzlies vs Philadelphia 76ers

The Memphis Grizzlies have surprised everyone with their current form, and they have quickly climbed all the way to 4th place in the Western Conference. Despite the injury to Ja Morant, the Grizzlies have anchored the 3rd best defence in the NBA in the last 10 games, but have also ranked 8th in offensive rating during that time. The Grizzlies have won 4 of their last 5 games, and this will be the final game of their homestand before travelling to Portland to face the Blazers. They have also been one of the best teams ATS this season, covering the spread in 59.3% of their games.

The Philadelphia 76ers had a very disappointing start to the season, but have managed to slightly recover their form. Despite the continued absence of Ben Simmons in their roster, the 76ers are 6th in the east with 15 wins and 12 losses on the season. Defence has been their bread and butter this season with 8 steals and 6 blocks, along with 13.5 forced turnovers per game. But their offensive efficiency has been an issue, ranking 27th in offensive rating in the last 10 games, and they are struggling to find easy points each night out. This will be their only game of the road trip before going back to Philly to face the Miami Heat.

Tip: Memphis Grizzlies +2.5 at 1.97 odds

Dallas Mavericks vs Charlotte Hornets

The Dallas Mavericks have had their fair share of issues this season, but they don’t seem to be nearing a solution. With 13 wins and 13 losses, they are 7th in the west and unable to maintain their form through more than 2 or 3 games at a time. They have won 4 of their last 10 games, and have underperformed multiple times already this season. Their offence simply doesn’t function with Doncic and Porzingis on the floor, averaging just 103.8 points per game and an offensive rating of 107.6 (22nd in the NBA). Their defence has been solid this year, allowing just 104.8 points per game and ranking 14th in the NBA in defensive rating, but they’re also one of the slowest teams in the NBA.

The Charlotte Hornets have emerged as one of the most exciting and entertaining teams in the league this season with their fast pace and rapid-fire offence. In fact, this young team is 3rd in the league in offensive rating and 1st in points per game with 115.8. A huge concern this year has been their defence, allowing 116.3 points per game and usually have to rely solely on their offence to win games. That said, this tactic has given  some results this year, placing them in 8th place in the Eastern Conference with 15 wins and 13 losses. The Hornets have a huge edge in this match-up with the absence of Luka Doncic and with 82% of bettors backing the Mavs tonight. Their fast pace and efficient offence should be enough to overwhelm the Mavericks.

Tip: Charlotte Hornets +2.5 at 2.12 odds

Denver Nuggets vs Washington Wizards

The Denver Nuggets are having a subpar season largely due to injury issues, but they’ve managed to recover their form recently, winning 3 of their last 5 games during their long road trip. But they’ll be back at Ball Arena for this one and the Nuggets tend to perform much better at home than on the road. They are coming off a 127-112 victory over the Spurs in San Antonio, and they’re looking to carry the momentum back to Denver. Despite their inconsistent performances this season, the Nuggets are an excellent team when Jokic isn’t injured, and I expect another solid outing from them tonight.

The Washington Wizards started the season firing on all cylinders, but they’ve cooled off significantly and are now down to 7th place in the east. Their elite defence from the beginning of the season has vanished, and they are ranked 28th in defensive rating during the last 10 games. They are coming off a brutal 98-123 loss to the Utah Jazz at home, and this will be the start of a 6-game road trip, so don’t be surprised if they drop down even further down the standings.  The Wizards have been terrible ATS on the road, covering in just 28.6% of their games this year, and given their recent form, I suggest avoiding them for the time being.

Tip: Denver Nuggets -5.5 at 2.10 odds
