Detroit Pistons vs Golden State Warriors

Though the Detroit Pistons are one of the worst-performing teams in the NBA this season, this is a game where I feel comfortable giving them the benefit of the doubt. This will be their third straight home game, and they are coming off a solid victory against the Indiana Pacers. Despite being one of the worst offensive teams in the league, the Pistons have shown flashes of excellent defence, forcing almost 17 turnovers per game and grabbing almost 9 steals.

Meanwhile, the Warriors are sitting atop the Western Conference and riding a 2-game winning streak on the road. Their offence has been superb this season and they are certainly the better team in this one, but this will be their 4th straight road game before going back home to face the Raptors. The Detroit Pistons are the second-best team ATS in the last year following a loss, covering the spread in 60% of their games. The +8-point handicap points along with their home advantage should be enough to get them over the edge in this one.

Tip: Detroit Pistons +7.5 at 1.95

Brooklyn Nets vs Orlando Magic

The Brooklyn Nets are one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference with 11 wins and 5 losses. But although they have a wide array of scorers, their offence hasn’t been able to live up to the hype, ranking 14th in offensive rating and averaging 107.9 points per game (13th in NBA). Their rebounding has also left a lot to be desired, along with their 14.8 turnovers per game. The Brooklyn Nets are heavy favourites in this one and the bookmakers have them to earn another blowout win against a much weaker team.

But the Orlando Magic are coming off an impressive 104:98 game against the New York Knicks, where they forced 18 turnovers and got the victory despite a lacklustre shooting performance. The Magic are definitely the value team in this one, and although I don’t expect them to win against the Nets, they have what it takes to give them a run for their money. The Magic are a young team with a lot of motivation to compete against one of the top teams in the conference, and the +12.5 point handicap provides excellent betting value in this one.

Tip: Orlando Magic +12.5 at 1.94 odds

Boston Celtics vs LA Lakers

The Boston Celtics have had a very slow start to the season, struggling on both sides of the court, and winning just 7 of their 15 games. They are coming back from a 3-game road trip, and they’ll be happy to face the Lakers on home turf. Though the Celtics haven’t performed at the highest level in recent matches, home advantage and the famous Lakers rivalry should give them more than enough motivation to win this one. They are still a solid squad with an superb star in Jayson Tatum, who has been picking up the pace in the absence of Jaylen Brown.

The Lakers have also had a difficult start to the season, and their injury issues have been the biggest reason behind it. Anthony Davis and Lebron James are questionable for this one, whilst Trevor Ariza is out at least until mid-December. But this isn’t the only concern. The Lakers have averaged 17.1 turnovers per game and allowed 112.3 points per game. They are ranked 25th in the league in NET rating this season, and the slow start of Russel Westbrook certainly hasn’t helped. The Lakers are one of the worst teams ATS this season, covering in just 37.% of their games, and I have the Celtics to get the job done at home in this one.

Tip: Boston Celtics -1.5 at 2.02 odds

Denver Nuggets vs Chicago Bulls

The Denver Nuggets are having a streaky 2021/22 season, and are currently 6th in the west. After going on a 4-game winning streak, the Nuggets lost 2 games in a row against the Mavericks and 76ers. But they had an unusually bad shooting night against the 76ers, shooting around just 30% on both 3 and 2-pointers.  The Nuggets are the 3rd-best defensive team in the league this year, allowing just 99.2 points per game, and keeping opponents to just 32.9% from behind the 3-point line. They are capable of dominating opponents, especially in home games as we saw against the Mavericks, Blazers, and Heat.

The Chicago Bulls have had an incredible season so far, standing 3rd in the east, and looking to contend for the title this year. But this will be their 5th road game in a row, and Denver is one of the toughest places to play in, especially at the end of a road trip. The Bulls are the better team in this one, but they will be missing key big man Nikola Vucevic and possibly their defensive ace in Alex Caruso. I expect their fatigue and lack of key players to play a key role in this game, and the Nuggets to use their home advantage and get the job done this time around.

Tip: Denver Nuggets -4.5 at 2.02 odds
